2042 PC OPTIMISATION for RTX cards

my specs

cpu: i7 10750h

gpu: RTX 2070 super

ram: 16GB

game is on SSD

in game my CPU utilization sits around 50+

                     GPU sits at around 40%

performance wise i get 40 to 50 fps

tried all fixes even reinstalled windows and gpu drivers in safe mode but nothing worked

the recent update did nothing either

DEVS pleasee make the game playable...i know u guys are amazing and i trust u will make it playable. pleasee work on optimization first.

all those who preordered are pure fans of the franchise, we were let down with the beta but early access isnt good either

people might be disappointed but we still trust u guys .

please make it better.

  • @M0nk3i You realise that its pretty hard to optimise for massive amount of players and vehicles its feasable but take time and ressources a lot ..

Look at planetside 2 it took about 8 years to get it optimized enough to get decents frames in huge battles
  • i do but do u understand that people with good pcs are having this issues even people with 3080ti reported low fps

meanwhile console has good performance and planetside 2 player count is waaay more than 2042 even albion online has fps drops in massive battles but

atleast base performance has to be 60 fps thats all i want

  • Which driver version exactly?

496.76 <- this is the current
496.84 <- this is the hotfix for BF2042

    ??

Ray tracing is disabled? This was simply enabled for some after the last update....

  • @M0nk3iI don't get how so many are having problems on top end hardware.

I have a 3080 and the performance is top-notch. I even tried an old 1080ti I have laying around, and on that I could easily run 1440p at ultra with no signs of trouble. (Didn't try 4K on it as im sure that would choke the 1080ti)

@BizzyVaping Its because the game has * optimization, i have the same * fps on all max 4k ultra as i have on 720p all low, ive even lowered the settings further in the settingsfile, disable more things than the game usually let you do, i did gain a 40% fps increase, but its still *, my game looks like minecraft compared to battlefield 5 and yet i cant even reach 50% of the fps. Something is clearly verry wrong

from what i see its mostly i7 peeps having performance issues...my cpu usage is around 70% while my gpu usage is less than 40% sometimes stays at 20%

if the game is runnning fine for u im happy for u bro

but for majority of us we have performance issues whether u agree or not

  • @Donidon RT disabled i tried all drivers with safe mode DDU install and only the 496.13 version is better
  • I am really  sorry for all of us guys that we have performance issues. I am also very sorry to disappoint you, cause it doesn't look like dice will do something about it soon enough. So either suck it up and keep playing or quit it.

The game is  a sum of flaws and bugs, unbalanced, un-optomized and above all, a great disappointment.

I run the game  with fairly good hardware, 3080ti, ryzen 9 3950x, 3600 ddr4 cl 16 etc... I didn't want the game to run with 200fps and I don't care either cause my uwqhd monitor caps at 144hz so that' s the fps I am aiming for in games. And in all games that's  achievable easy.

However this BF is a nightmare. There r some maps that game runs just ok in the range of 100fps and others that fps goes down to 50fps range.  Cpu per core utilization (for 8 cores that the engine can see) is at about 70-80% and overal is  less than 30% gpu tops at 60% utilization  and all these with lowest possible setting.

Sad thing is there is no workaround to counter the obsolete engine  dice is using. Small gains can come from cpu and memory overclock   which I am against 100% although I did tried last night. Some people suggest that cpus are bottleneck and responsible for the poor performance. As a matter of fact  whoever is suggesting that is totally clueless about hardware. The same aged game's engine and poor coding is the bottleneck not the hardware.

To support that even further, the optimization is so bad  that makes no visual change no matter what settings we change and no fps change too.

I feel kinda bad for paying 90 € for such a bad game. I just want to hope that it will get fixed soon...
