4.0 ain't it
I think I'm done for a while again. 4.0 was nice and all with lots of bug fixes but the game simply has too many core issues to make it fun. Played a bunch of conquest today, several different mode...

@foff667yup, i just tried out a few matches today.
Battlefield2042 has now just become Helofield2042.
Besides ImASentryWanker Boris not getting a nerf with the Specialist changes, the helo's are just absolutely OP. Players getting 100 kill streaks just sitting in them unable to die.
You mean Condor and Superhind dominated.
As a very experienced heli pilot, they're not op - esp the actual attack choppers.
Just nobody spawns wildcats and actually uses the AA guns. Miniguns and AA guns rip apart all aircraft, any time I have issues with helis vs my team i just spawn a wildcat and laugh as i get a bunch of kills.
Have you actually used the AA variant of the Wildcat recently? The dual AA cannon on it is very weak. It can take out jets quite quickly, if they're low enough. But for most of the choppers I'd hardly describe it as "ripping apart" the aircraft. You'd have to sustain fire on them for quite some time even if they're very close to the vehicle. For the transport choppers it feels more like shooting at a tank, with their own weaponary more likely to rip you apart in short order.
Combined with how terrible the thermal smoke is, how long the AA missiles take to lock and how easily they lose the lock, turret turn speed and elevation restrictions the AA vehicles are increadibly weak. If a chopper is close to you they will easily kill you before you can kill them. They should fear AA vehicles enough to keep their distance, they need to completely rework the Wildcat in AA configuration.
@SlipperyLiz4rdI am only pretty much using the AA guns on the wildcat and have the AT missiles for the ground vehicles. This setup is puting hurt on infantry, ground vehicles and aircraft.
But sadly I do not get to use it much because
Someone always occupies all the vehicle slots I may want to use and even if I get one, DICE designed 2042 to try its best to prevent me from getting the same vehicle category again before some drooling blueberry does.
True, the Aircraft (IMO especially the Condor) are absolutely OP after the last patch. There cannot be any doubt about that and if some 'experienced heli pilot' says otherwise, then he did not try to take one down after the patch.
I could convince some friends to try out BF2042 last Friday (our usual gaming night), because most of my clan left the franchise and moved on. But I said that the Infantry mode in Portal is actually pretty enjoyable and they should try it out. They came and realized that Dice had actually removed this mode again. So most sof the others left and only 4 of us stayed and we played the 5 good maps (and El Alamein) in the remaining Portal mode that sounded to be fun.
We are coordinated squad, all in Teamspeak and I was running Rao with Hacking + SOFLAM while the others were using Angel + M5. Usually with us as coordinated BF veterans we make short work of those vehicles -- especially as also others on the server would be joining in, because we won't be the only ones running M5. What happened was: we were slaughtered again and again. Not sure how many M5 hits a Condor requires, but the short flare reload time it's almost if not completely impossible.
This would not be THAT bad if the Condor would be a pure transport, maybe with miniguns, But they are indestructable killing machines and whoever thought it would be a good idea to fit these things with the weapons they got, was either a sadist or out of her mind. They COMPLETELY destroy balance and made us leave the server and play better games instead.
