my only gripe with vehicles in this game is the stealth helo.  rest of the vehicles are fine and i can deal with them.  the combination of stealth and flares make the helo invincible if a competent pilot is flying.  they will be unstoppable soon when rao loses his stinger

I think that comes down to not enough vehicles being available, I have noticed that too, you rarely see tank vs. tank combat. With only one or two tanks available on these large maps they easily avoid each other and focus on farming infantry. The same could be said of the air vehicles too.

Yes! Exactly, that is what I mean, and as far as Metro or Locker, I'm all for more maps even if it is more infantry focused, I just wish the main game had more vehicles available.

Yeah, the stealth helo be a big one for me too in regard to needing a hard look and some tweaking, we'll just have to see how they handle things in Season 3.

I think the reason for that is the overall limit to vehicles. All it takes is one team taking out the opposing team's single tank/wildcat/RAM/etc and then the other is free to farm for a couple of minutes.

I like mostly infantry play but don't mind vehicles. Well except the stealth chopper, it's just OTT.

@Ironhead841I used to like the good old days where vehicles and infantry could coexist because maps were designed with a certain degree of compartmentalisation. That’s one of the areas 2042 fell flat on its face.

Older titles like BF3/4 had a variety of maps from CQC right up to all out vehicle warfare so they catered to everyone’s tastes and of course had a server browser to find your favourite experiences straight away. Just slapping CQC on small sections of maps designed for conquest like we see in 2042 just doesn’t work. 

I’ve always preferred to run gun and the old titles always did that better than any other game the market because of its sandbox, destruction, gunplay, atmosphere and graphics always being above the rest. Although I enjoy infantry gameplay I’m not a big fan of twitch based, mindless shooters. They don’t give me a war feel atmosphere where I can blow up vehicles, have gunfights at a variety of ranges & take a sniper out hiding in a building behind a wall with a grenade launcher etc. I also enjoyed the team based class system.

Playing BFs from ages, my opinion is BF is (was ?) a unique formula.

Not as arcade as COD, Apex, etc. Less realistic than ARMA, Tarkov or Squad... This game has is own gameplay i can't find in other games.

And vehicles make the game far more fun than a simple "infantry only".

I think (my opinion) the hate against vehicles is due to the way BF has turn since years. Until BF1, vehicles were more difficult to masterise, the level cap was higher and only really dedicated players could use all the power of their machine. Since BF1, driving and piloting has gone far more casual friendly, meaning quite everybody can jump in every seat and perform quite well. But the "balance" price comes in some hard "rock paper cisor" counter quite frustrating.

The balance of vehicles is really tied to their design, but with map design too. There is another critical point.

And with this BF2042 we have the worst. Simplest vehicles with some huge limitations due to counters, and "not soo great" map design making infantry life too short.

I mean both vehicles fans and Infantry fans can complain with BF2042.

Especially because of the lack of content, far too less maps, most maps with same "wild open space between flags"... Players are locked in the same gampelay loops and get mad.

I'm a huge fan of Infantry and vehicles combat. I'm quite sad to have less depht of gameplay and variety in content. Seing the amount of skins in the shop, i know where Devs use their time... sad.

Battlefield allows vehicles to become a major part of the battle and not really feel like a tacked on experience like other games and I love that.

What I don't like about the last few iterations is how easy it is for vehicles to camp and still devastate the battle zone; C5 takes way too long to detonate after throwing, lock ons are atrocious, self/auto repair compounds damage issues and being forced into vehicle hunter roles within a specialist system just doesn't sit well for me, especially when vehicles are so heavy hitting and fast.

I've seen entire teams be harassed by like 2 choppers and there is seemingly nothing they can do but get 5 seconds of respite. Skill gap is great and it's so cool to see how well some ace pilots perform out there, but when you're on the receiving end of it? Hoo boy lol
