@rippedwire01 It's a hero shooter with no real defined purpose for them. Overwatch, Apex Legends, even Team Fortress 2 balances their heroes around team play needed in fairly specific game modes and roles. Their abilities are designed accordingly. They also have more abilities and traits per hero. Maps and game modes are balanced and designed according to the hero abilities.
These specialists aren't bringing much to the table. 2 abilities and a passive. And nothing about Conquest or these maps allows for maximizing their use. Like you said, mostly stringing out the standard classes.

@ArchAngeL-PCXYou listed two arena shooters and a BR. This is not a hero shooter and primary reasons are scale and exclusivity.
There can be literally dozens of the same specialist / class running around… nothing unique or “heroic” about that.
What’s more, I find it interesting that so few people did not bemoan the inclusion of “Elites” in the previous Battlefield games, which were blatant copies of the Battlefront system and we’re truly “heroes” in that sense… which is why I hated them.
This is not the case in Battlefield 2042.
- cso77774 years agoSeasoned Ace@carsono311 BF1 was criticised a lot for special classes and the cavalry was constantly being nerfed/buffed because many players hated the class and Dice never could balance it right.
At least none of the specialists have more hit-points (yet), introducing armor is bad enough, for a BF-game...- carsono3114 years agoSeasoned Ace@cso7777 Agreed. I am not a fan of the armor addition to the game, but at least it is a somewhat modest amount of armor.
