Add a server browser
DICE, please add a server browser. I cannot find matches in my region(India). I am just stuck on the waiting for players screen and the match never starts or there are only 20-30 players in a match. ...

It would be good if they did and in that decision decided to bring back the server browser. Really hoping that the persistent servers in Portal make a difference for me in there. Not sure when that is earmarked to come out so I can check it out?
If the next BF is not released until 2024 then it's going to be a very long frustrating 2 years if we are stuck with MM.
If DICE really mean what they say about turning the series around then let's hope they prove it by listening to the community's daily calls for a server browser and by acting accordingly.
We will most probably only end up with 11 AOW maps which is a very small number compared to all previous BF's so at a bare minimum we need to be able to play them all in rotation.
I know I am fed up backing out of the map loading screens just to try and get into a map that I actually want to play.
Playing the same couple of maps over and over is just killing the fun factor.
If BF2042 is left in it's current state then I fear the damage it has done to the reputation of franchise may well be irreversible.
If on the other hand DICE do the right thing and give us a server browser / persistent servers then it will definitely go some way to restoring the trust / confidence that has been lost since the launch of BF2042.
As a long term fan of the BF series I will be saddened if the franchise is allowed to die especially when there is so much potential for it to be great again if managed correctly.
@RayD_O1It will be an extremely frustrating two years, especially if the player base nose dives any further than it is now at the moment. At the moment Exodus Conquest is the only game mode in AOW that I can MM into for a bit. So the maps in there that are on rotation are the only ones I can play. I haven't been able to play any of the original maps now since the launch of Season 1 bar the reworked map. So it's a pretty sad state of affairs for my game play at the moment.
I don't know how you have the patience to cancel out of a game mode and then try join a new one to get the map you want to play. I don't have the luxury or patience to be able to do that. I, feel I am forced to suck it and play the same rotation and map over and over or else I wont be able to play at all.
Have been experimenting in Portal for a while but there is not always maps or modes I want to play in there. I have "Followed" a good server that I was playing on but when I went back to check in out last night it no longer existed and was not saved in my followed folder. So I don't know if Portal is actually working the way it is supposed too.
Today I went through the forum checking posts, after 2min came across two posts from other guys experiencing MM issues and not being able to get a game. I have directed both of them to this thread. I found it disappointing that there query's were left unanswered for over a month by support. In both cases, I was the first person to respond to them.
Still need a server browser i waited over a hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for a game

That is a very sad state of affairs, no one should have to go through that just to play the game.
And the sad thing is. you and I and everyone else knows there is a solution available which would resolve all these frustrating issues and allow all players access to all maps at all times. - @RayD_O1 It is. Last night I was only able to MM into one full round of Exodus Conquest, so I ended up playing solo against the AI in there instead for one round, got bored and switched it off.
There must be a lot of other players out there at the moment with similar experiences as I am having who are also turning the game off. This is having a negative effect on the player base as well as pushing people away from the game and into other games. Once they are in other games they are not really returning to play. We will likely see a mass exodus when MW2 launches shortly.
A Server Browser would allow people like me in regions which have a low player count to change our region and join in with the rest of the BF community that are playing in regions with higher player count.
This region option which was in the filter of the original SB should also be brought across to Portal. I dont know how good Persistent Servers are going to go in there with regions with low player base. Will work great if we can change our region.

Yeah it is not acceptable that you and many other players have been abandoned and are left with a game that you can't play.
DICE have a responsibility to ensure all players have access to the game they paid for and this should be their number one priority.
As you rightly say this is having a negative affect on the player base and imho is doing long term damage to the franchise.
I genuinely feel really sorry for all you guys who are left without the ability to even play BF2042, DICE definitely needs to step up and sort this asap. It still amaze me that the decission were made not to have a server browser from the start in this game. And then deciding not to add it later while alot of players can't play because of this missing feature..unbelievable.
And that's not all what is missing and broken...my goodness.

We all are getting screwed over by this company. I wouldn’t care if I did play with Ai because atleast I would be playing and I don’t mean solo where there is no progression. I mean let me play AOW until players join and even if they don’t join let me progress in the season.
@Mackstan71a lot of the entertainment industry these days seems to give me the same vibes as those fantasy stories referring to an advanced Atlantis-like civilization that the humans that came later lost and cannot replicate.
Is this what the decline of a civilization feels like?
Just like how western Roman rule in the provinces deteriorated from something positive into something negative to the point that the locals were happy to see the barbarian invaders replace them.

Indeed, and yet they leave you out in the cold. No explanation...nada..nothing. how bizarre is this.

Last night it was over 8 failed MM attempts before I got a match, and I spawned into the end of a round. When that round ended there was only myself and 3 others trying to play again. They left and the cycle started again. Another 4 failed MM attempts before getting to play two matches and I gave up when I couldnt get back in after that.
I'd love to be able to change my region so I can play.
#BringBackTheServerBrowser @Sc0tch_WhiskeyI think that this is a fundamental problem to their current attitude. I think at the very minimum that they should allow players to change region so they can get a game or update MM so that it allows this to happen.
We should all be able to play the game we paid for. If it's fixed, then more people can play it. They owe us that much in the short term at least.I think it will be poor form on EA DICE if they dont continue to deliver content after S4. They are making better content now, and there are elements of the game that are enjoyable. They should focus on keeping their Skeleton crew working on BF2042 in the background at whatever the cost until the new BF title is being released. This would allow things like the SB and a couple of new maps etc. to be worked on.
They owe us that at the very least, we should be able to play the game we payed for to keep some sort of interest in the Franchise. If not, they are doing themselves no favor's. I expect to be able to play in a multiplayer experience.

If DICE are not going to introduce a proper Server Browser then they need to provide an alternative that allows ALL players access to the game.
Their insistence on sticking with MM has brought BF to it's knees, look at the player count compared to all previous BF's at the same stage.
Fun has been replaced by frustration and choice has been replaced with forced gameplay or in some cases denied altogether. ☹️
DICE need to understand that no one can enjoy BF2042 properly without a Server Browser, any new content they introduce going forward means nothing if players don't have proper access to play it.
The solution is there, we all know what needs to happen, DICE please make it happen, so the community can get back to enjoying BF again.

A SB would obviously be the best solution, but at a bare minimum the MM should be overhauled to put players like me who are in low player base areas into other regions where there is a larger player base so I can MM into any game mode in AOW, instead of being pidgeon holed into playing Exodus Conquest only. I cant even MM into the other Conquest modes! No Breakthrough since Christmas, the New Rush mode I have not been able to MM into at all since launch. All these game modes as well as the original maps I am not able to play. Just whatever I am put into in Exodus Conquest, that's it!
The region filter needs to be introduced into Portal as well. Last night there were only two games which I could have joined with a high playerbase (And when I say high, I mean enough players to make it worth joining) Both 64 player games only had 25 and 32 players in them, the rest were AI, all the other game modes in Portal only had 1-3 players in them. Unfortunately, one of the game modes was 200% Hardcore and the other was another version of Hardcore on the older BF maps only.
There doesn't not seem to be any variety in Portal these days. It's the same game mode on the same maps. If Portal was upgraded to have the region filter that the SB has then this would likely open up a lot of other game modes for me to join.
So until something like that happens it is just going to get worse and worse. At the minute MM is beginning to become a lot more difficult for me. I can see me not being able to MM at all into any AOW mode probably within the next month if the current rate of decline keeps up. Also not sure what will be left in Portal for me to play in their either. Hoping the promised Persistent Servers delivers something for me in there.
I think this is not a BF game, and once you get over that with the new content it's not bad. It's a different game which can be played. But nobody is going to be able to play it unless they do something quickly. There will be nobody around come Season 4 in my region at the current going rate.

Imho Portal's true potential has not been realised, I hope that they introduce something going forward which will allow better access / variety, which may in turn encourage more players to use Portal. The servers are all a bit specialist at the moment and are not drawing in enough players to make it viable,
Sadly as long as MM exists the situation is only going to get worse, players will only put up with this level of frustration for so long before giving up and moving on.
The fewer players, the bigger the problem trying to fill servers, the longer the wait for us all. ☹️
Your absolutely correct in everything. I don’t see how they can keep letting this happen. They don’t see how important a server browser is. The players want to play and they are not letting us. It all comes down to the team working in this to step up. I feel like the team working on this don’t play games. If they did they would know our frustrations.

Maybe it's like what Up_Hawxxeye said, that it might be a decision from above. Maybe a person who's realy persistant to put his stamp on this game...even if it's a big mistake....just a guess.

100% this, ALL players have the right to be able to play the game and MM is not providing access so needs to be replaced.
A server browser / persistent servers set up is the only viable solution, it worked for every previous BF and it would work in BF2042.
No one has the time to hang around in MM lobbies in the hope of getting into a match, this should not be happening in 2022 in a BF title.
All this frustration and time wasting could be ended if DICE implemented the server browser that BF2042 so badly needs.
- @Sc0tch_Whiskey 100% upper management taking the leg's out from underneath the Dev's I think. It's happened in every aspect of this game. They have started to turn it around to "redeem themselves" but only to a point. They are not going that extra mile to potentially save this game. All right, it's not a BF game, but it's still a game that until now has not started to get better. They should be looking to put out more than 4 seasons in BF2042 and either fixing MM or introducing the Server Browser into AOW. They owe us more than 4 seasons, they owe us content to fill the gap while we wait another 1.5-2years for the next BF title to come out. They owe us the ability to be able to play the game.
They owe us.....
