Add a server browser
DICE, please add a server browser. I cannot find matches in my region(India). I am just stuck on the waiting for players screen and the match never starts or there are only 20-30 players in a match. ...

Is this some cryptic hint or are we being trolled? Serious question because this is the most game-demoralizing thing for me. This MM is the worst I have ever experienced. A Server Browser with persistent lobbies would literally change my overall opinion of the game over night. Server Browser, Mouse Input, and TTK/TTD optimization. That is the big 3 right now.
But the question remains...are they up to it...hmmmm

Dice I would like all players to have access to the game in all regions.
DICE I want to choose my own server and I would love to be able to stay on that server all day if I want and play all the BF2042 maps in rotation.
I want to spend more time actually playing and less time in lobbies waiting to play.
BF2042 could be a lot less frustrating if you added a Server Browser / Persistent Servers.
DICE please make it happen.
With BT128 back, they really need to consider a Server Browser. There are too many good modes, but at the same time you need to still have the vanilla ones available. Rotating out of the best modes is terrible for player retention. When my favorite modes drop, I barely play.
Just something to think about DICE.
It all comes down to letting customers play the map/mode they want, the way they want, where they want and with who they want.
We need server browsers with persistent servers just to START with.
Then we won't need to keep rotating these modes in and out all the time and consistently aggravating the people that want to play them.

Exactly, MM removes choice and forces players to play the way MM decides.
This results in unnecessary frustration and means players spend way too much time waiting to play when they should be playing. The fact that they have no control over the maps / modes they get to play just compounds the problem.
BF2042 has deviated so much from the blueprint that made previous BF's so enjoyable.
MM has successfully killed of the communities that were such a big part of earlier BF's success
DICE please do the right thing and add the Server Browser and Persistent Servers that BF2042 desperately needs, MM is simply killing the fun factor.Agree with everything in this thread.

A Battlefield without persistent servers doesnt feel right.
Also when the MM is the worst MM in gaming history then it all just goes down the drain.
I mean its so fun being sent to the same 3 maps over and over and over and over. lol
Or when you click cancel and it keeps sending you to the same map for 5 minutes straight before it send you to one of the 2 other maps you've been playing over and over and over and over.
I havent seen 50% of the maps this game got for several months. Discarded, Breakaway, Hour Glass is like a faint summer memory from when I last played on of those maps back in august or something.
Battlefield has always been join a server and play the rotation. why go the stupid MM route? hope its not because of CoD... (on of many reasons I dont play cod)
And its possible to have MM for those who prefer that while having persistent servers. So having both is only a positive as it will please more players....
The only way to play BF after update 3.1 is by using VPN, why ? because middle east servers are empty ~95% 24/7, please give us server browser and persistence servers.
I am assuming since 2042 runs on an updated version of Frostbite they haven't figured out how to implement a server browser into the game just yet. That can only explain why most "legacy features" were left out from the get-go and had to be implemented later. They had to build the game from the ground up. They were just celebrating that a team member just found out how to get implement 2xp into the game, hence the 2xp weekends.

100% this, a Battlefield without a Server Browser / Persistent Servers doesn't feel right because it isn't right. !.
You sum up the frustrations that we are having to endure on a daily basis, and this has to stop.
MM should be available for those who want to use the Quick Match option and a Server Browser / Persistent Servers should be there for everyone else who wants to choose to play BF2042 the way we played all previous Battlefields.

This is a very important reason why DICE need to bring a Server Browser to BF2042.
Too many players have given up on BF2042 and have been prevented from playing in their regions which is totally unacceptable imho.
- @RayD_O1 we have talked about this for literally a year now. If they were going to add a Server Browser it would've been added before Season 1. Now with seasonal content drops going on, there is zero time for the devs to work on this backend stuff. We also know there are technical limitations that they would have to overcome and at this point I assume they have weighed the return on investment and said it is not worth their time.
That won't stop me from asking for one, because that with mouse input and hit reg are the 3 groundbreaking issues with this game. If they fixed those players would come back in droves because if you haven't seen, the other game is even in worse shape and that is pretty hard to do. There are so many flaws made, things broken/missing..that i think they lost track and not up to the task to get it right again. They took a change with this game and it did'nt came out right,
For me it seems they only do the minor unneeded fixes and leave the game breaking ones as it is.... this game is written off.
The only time you might see a increase of players when this game is on a great discount or if they make it free to play.
For us who have to deal with this broken game for a YEAR! now, and payed the full price, well...i don't know about you guys...but i feel stabbed in the back. No SB/PS, Broken Hitregg/Netcode/ttk/ttd, No crossplay..almost no game, show me the state of this game.
Yes, i also will contineu and keep pushing that it will be adressed, even when i know we talking to a brick wall.

It just sucks in general that we literally cannot choose the map we want to play on unless it is a 24/7 mode that only plays one map. This is what you get when you listen (and invite) streamers and content creators to your studio for input.

Yeah it gets old very quickly doesn't it especially when we have so few maps in BF2042.
Once the weeklies are done, I literally login, getting a crappy map, ALT+F4. Try again the next day.
Steamcharts numbers show that players are not happy without a Server Browser.
In the middle of the holiday season, Seasonal content, special 3-week event, the "other" game is terrible and yet this game is still losing players. Down 2K from the peak in early December. Such a disappointment.
- @Adamonic 100% agree. I have to say, I am finding it pretty hard to keep intrest in this game at the minute and that I have not been playing it much now since before Christmas.
This is predomondly because I can not MM into the game modes I want to play. When I do MM into a game mode (which is either Exodus Conquest or the Christmas Playlist) The numbers keep dropping each round and eventually after 1-3 games there are not enough players to MM into the game mode. Then, even though I want to play, I actually cant.
All this could be resolved with the introdcution of a simple Server Browser. I can not understand the hesitation of adding one, and why even though we are asking for it to now be looked at, as they have committed to new content past S4, that we are still waiting for a response as to:
A: Yes we are looking into adding it in the future or
B: No, we are not looking into adding it in the future.
BF2042 is failing me big time as a long time fan right now. Currently looking for other games to move onto if anyone has any other suggestions?

It's very sad / annoying that players like yourself and many others are denied access to the game, this should not be happening in a BF title in 2023, or any other game for that matter.
DICE owes it to all players to provide access and for that reason alone MM needs to be replaced with a proper Server Browser / Persistent Servers so ALL players can play the game they paid for.
As you point out they have committed to new content beyond Season 4 so they need to do the right thing and give ALL players access to the new content, it's a minimum requirement imho.
You shouldn't have to be looking for a new game you should be able to play and enjoy BF2042.,

It is a disappointment to see the player count decline again, though not really that surprising.
Not having the ability to play the game as we choose is killing the enjoyment factor and driving players away.
Many have left because they have no access in their regions.
DICE really need to step up and provide a Server Browser / Persistent Servers as MM is not up to the job and needs replacing imho.
