Add a server browser
DICE, please add a server browser. I cannot find matches in my region(India). I am just stuck on the waiting for players screen and the match never starts or there are only 20-30 players in a match. ...

Once the weeklies are done, I literally login, getting a crappy map, ALT+F4. Try again the next day.
Steamcharts numbers show that players are not happy without a Server Browser.
In the middle of the holiday season, Seasonal content, special 3-week event, the "other" game is terrible and yet this game is still losing players. Down 2K from the peak in early December. Such a disappointment.

It is a disappointment to see the player count decline again, though not really that surprising.
Not having the ability to play the game as we choose is killing the enjoyment factor and driving players away.
Many have left because they have no access in their regions.
DICE really need to step up and provide a Server Browser / Persistent Servers as MM is not up to the job and needs replacing imho.

This game could had have a bit more potential if it had a server browser from the beginning..or at least when it was clear this MM system wasn't working. I hope for the sake of the gaming humanity, they won't make that mistake with the next game.

It has never felt like a proper BF game to me, not even close.
BF2042 needs a proper Server Browser / Persistent Servers so players can choose how they play the game, not how MM forces them to play it..
Indeed. I bought BF 2042 in sale cause i heard its so bad and its unbelievable how much potential this game has or to many players had which was wasted...
Could have been the best Battlefield since the old days but well... someone at EA decided to not let people decide which map they want to play, which people they want to play with
or to whom they like to talk ingame. Its like they think all players are as dumb as their AI lol.
A server browser is greatly needed with persistent servers to help the game turn the corner.
Hopefully EA/DICE realize this and change direction.

Agreed, and the sooner the better.
BF2042 needs a real boost and the addition of a Server Browser /Persistent Servers would do more for BF2042 than any other change DICE could make.

Anybody aware or have seen factually one single time where EA/DICE have expressed any recognition of this demand/wish from their customer base to have a server browser in the core BF2042 game?
And if any hint of such recognition, any expression from EA/DICE leadership in willingness/commitment or plans to if/when such server browser functionality could/would be implemented in the core of the BF2042 game?
Closely related of course, but not the subject of this long thread, but same questions are relevant for getting the persistent game servers, me thinks...
I personally would want both!
And I am still wanting to hear direct from EA/DICE Execs on their response to these questions.
Any subject thread going above 1,000+ posts on this forum would deserve their direct and unfiltered attention and response!

Their only comment I can recall was 4 months back when they stated that : "Presently we have no plans to introduce a Server Browser to AOW ".
What I have never heard are any valid reasons as to why they are taking this stance.Like you I firmly believe the community deserves to know, and I also believe that this community deserves better than MM.
Levelcapgaming recently did a video exposing how upper management at Activision is forcing game developers to use skill based matchmaking even though they don't want to. Maybe the same thing is happening at DICE.
I remember Freeman confirming skill based matchmaking was being worked on for Battlefield and I believe this is the real reason there is no longer a server browser in Battlefield.

- @OskooI_007 why though? How does SBMM help increase revenue? If anything it frustrates more players than it helps. I get that they want to help the noobies feel like superstars, but this literally pisses off the top 50% that actually play the game more.
So to me, it is counter-intuitive to think SBMM makes you more profitable.
BF2042 should be a perfect example of what not to do for every game developer from here on out. @Adamonic i agree, but upper management doesn't play the game. Heck, most of the developers don't play the game either.
All upper management knows is spreadsheets and pie charts. SBMM must have looked profitable in a pie chart somewhere.After this post I saw Enders talking about how skill based matchmaking and pie charts are ruining the fun.

The time horizon for when investors and the sr management team wants to see ROI (Return on Investment) has unfortunately become shorter and shorter over recent years. So though they probably will indeed make some quick money here (as profit margins are also increased, when being very restrictive on time actually spent on development resources); then personally I do not see this being positive for EA and particular the DICE franchise longer term.
As the customers will not go along the same trick next time around. Or at least, after a few cycles with disappointments by high marketing buff and lack of delivery to meet the set customer expectations. Think about the customer experience and product content in the previous string of aka BF1943, BFBC2, BF3, BF4, BF1, BFV, BF2042.
That is of course, if we as customers are indeed insisting to keep our standards of expectations high? Or to at least, what we ourselves perceives to be an acceptable product and experience versus the price we paid for it. Personally, though I am not a fan of the era and never felt deeply engaged into the BF1 scenario, the game was with great contents and imagery, functionality etc, but its from that point and onwards my level of loyalty, enjoyment, customer experience was broken by what we got from EA/DICE (and also by what we didnt get from EA/DICE of contents/functionality I expected in a BF game).
Among these are of course persistent servers and a server browser!
I! The customer! Wants to be in control of what game mode and map I want to play and be entertained by!
How do you all think Netflix would do, if when you switched on Netflix, you would be shown something on the screen you would not be able to choose among yourself?
And also just to be thrown in, just to be shown the last 3 minutes of a some random movie?
THAT is the experience we get today in BF2042.
And THAT has to change!

That is actually a very good analogy, I don't think Netflix would survive very long.
And yet we are currently denied all choice and force fed whatever MM decides we should enjoy. ☹️
As we have all been saying daily since release, this definitely has got to change ! Match Making has no place in a Battlefield title. And if they decide it will be in the next game count me out.

Based on the number of posters in this thread alone, it appears to be a considerable part of the BF player population.
Dear EA/DICE, do not dare to double down on the MM mess.
Please be business rational and listen to your paying customers!

Yeah me too, never again will I purchase any title without a proper Server Browser / Persistent Servers.
Lesson learnt the hard way ! +1 for not buying any future Battlefield that doesn't include a proper server browser and persistent servers.
And you can forget about pre-orders, I will definitely wait to see actual gameplay and reviews to see what any new title has to offer before purchasing.
Went to play BF2042 for the first time today to get some double XP goodness. Hourglass came up 6 times in a row! ALT-F4 out of the game and won't go back tonight.
Is it too much to ask for persistent servers and a server browser PLEASE!

I feel your pain, I have never been a fan of Hourglass imho it just doesn't look / feel like a BF map.
DICE please listen to the community we really deserve better than MM so we can play BF2042 the way we choose.
We really need to be able to play through map rotations, I couldn't believe how many times I saw the Kaleidoscope map yesterday while playing the Exodus playlist.
DICE we really need you to replace MM with a proper Server Browser / Persistent Servers, playing the same maps over and over just kills the enjoyment factor.
