Single player to start a server match in AOW would work but I doubt EA would do it as there would be a lot more server instances. EA has to pay for those instances, and I don't see them doing it out of the kindness of their heart imo.

I had hoped that if AOW had one player starts and backfilled with AI, the games would start immediately and then humans would replace the AI until the server was full. I hadn't actually envisaged any increase in server instances.
Obviously it would work even better alongside persistent servers so there would be no going back and forth to the lobby.
Imho I strongly believe if AOW worked the same way the Official Portal Experiences work (mostly all have one player starts), we would spend a lot more time playing instead of waiting to play.
For example, I can go on a World Tour Server without ever having to queue and stay on it all day if I want, and I get to play all the maps in rotation, I also get full XP etc.... That's what I want for AOW until the day comes when we can return to having a proper Server Browser / Persistent Servers.
