Adding classes and teamwork

Might be too early to ask but has the addition of classes produced more teamwork in 2042 like people were using for the argument of adding classes?  Are people dropping more ammo now?  Are they healing more now?

@RaginSam I genuinely liked the Specialist idea for 2042, and being this group with different abilities and the freedom to use any and all equipment if you wanted to. I also liked Firestorm, and Hazard Zone was pretty fun and different in the few times I could play it. Sadly, we cannot have anything different. We saw this when people were screaming about wanting just a BF4 remake, then that they didn't get enough 'new' content. These same people wanted a remake of an old game, and also wanted the old maps into the rotation, along with old guns.

People complain about cosmetic items, but they'll run the blingiest of bling weapon or character skins if they can. Complain about weapon selection, but they'll use one or two. Complain about clone characters, but wanted a game that only had four characters per faction. People are never happy, and we've seen this in previous titles where the dev team is being pulled all over the place listening to more influential community members who complain about one thing, then complain about it when its changed, or straight up just don't play it.

I see it more and more among the Youtubers where they hate on something for clout, then praise it for clout, then hate on it, then praise it, and their play styles are constantly geared toward trying to get clips for vids instead of genuine teamwork. I played a Portal mode set up by one for a while, and while it was pretty fun at first, it turned into this slogfest because they wouldn't alter the formula, and it became clearer it was just a means for them to set up clips for vids. They never once participated in anything teamwork related (I would sometimes fly helicopters or VTOLs and try to get them to an objective, but they'd instantly jump so they could to C5 kill something). They'd never wait for a revive, or give ammo, or revive. It was just lone wolfing start to finish. At one point they just killed the server for the night because they were having a bad experience (I watched their vid after where they had played in the same server). So nobody else could play it.

Its a selfish streak that seems to be pretty prevalent nowadays. Back in BF3 especially, I used to run with a small group of players (but also randoms would participate) by getting the Littlebird and making drop runs onto flags with them. I'd do it with the Venom as well, and I try to do it with the Condor and Hind in 2042. But most of the time people won't spawn on you, or they spawn just to sit in the helo and take up a gun space, and never shoot at anything. Vast majority of the time nobody will spawn on an MAV either. I haven't witnessed anyone running repair tools on vehicles since the update despite it being part of the kit.

I appreciate updates and changes to the maps to make them more intricate and interesting, but other stuff, DICE really needs to stop listening to certain players, because they'll end up crashing the game into the ground eventually pulling it every which way.

@Moab23 It's hard to be creative when every time you try to be there's backlash from a big part of the community. I feel the same as you. I don't want another BF4, I've played it for many hours already and it was a great game.

I wish more developers had a clear vision of what they wanted to make and stuck to it. Find that passion again and be a little innovative. Dice tried with the Specialist, but obviously that didn't go well. I think players really need to be a little more flexible and let developers try different things. Give them room to be human and experiment a bit.

Youtubers like jackfrags, brokenmachine and levelcap dont care about the game.  They are all about that youtube money.  Maybe they were at one time but now it is all about getting that click for the advert money.  I can only think of one youtuber that genuinely tries to help players of battlefield.  The rest just want the money and /or are toxic as hell (silk) and intentionally ruin the game for people and try to clear out servers.

  • Yes I have seen more ammo, and been revived more frequently. But the anti-class brigade is going to whinge for the next 6 months

@NazT55 I wouldn't say so. I started doing C5, because its widely available now. I will bring a med crate when I think Irish is needed. Won't bring an ammo crate until the other three support gadgets are at T1.
But don't worry, season 4 brings a Recon specialist, so I assume I will spot a lot.
Ahh yes, I believe that specialists and classes don't mix. At the moment it tastes like mustard in coffee.

It's almost like each player has a different experience in the game and making each experience. Both of your statements about seeing less and more are true. Not every situation or experience is going to be the same.
I do recommend taking the aggressive tone a few notches back and respecting each player's experience with the game.
