The game will use origin no matter what store you buy from so I guess the benefit would be not having to have more than one store open to play.

@Noodlesocks I own every Battlefield from BC2-BF5 on both Origin and Steam and I'm getting 2042 on Steam. Steam launches the Origin thin client so it's not really saving much if any memory using the full Origin client alone plus I like Steam's user experience much better that Origin. Regarding EGS, I won't even use that platform for free games.
@Fringerunner regarding EA Desktop I won't use it until it gets out of Beta due to the issues I saw reported at launch with older titles like BF3. BF3 happens to be the Battlefield title I play most so I'm sticking with the more reliable clients.
- 4 years ago@ragnarok013 Oh, i found some bugs tonight
Short short version, BF3 didn't register the DLCs and had to be reinstalled via origin, BF4 worked fine (apart from some weirdness with pings on server select), and BF5 had amnesia and wanted to start me a rank 1, at which point i panicked and went back to origin and thankfully cloud save restore was an option.
The UI and social stuff is a big step up though, and i can hardly knock a beta for being buggy on the other stuff.
Looks like it's going in the right direction vs origin at least.
(i also like the video play in the background on the game pages)
In fact, going to go play some BF4 again right now most likely.- ragnarok0134 years agoHero+
