According to the description of the game, which is planned to be released on all current playgrounds (Steam, EGS and Origin), the pre-order content and additional content will be identical (either in the standard edition, or in Gold and even in the Ultimate edition). However, taking into account the need to support your gaming platform, is there a prospect in adding materials for pre-order or for the status of "veteran" in your native Origin platform (taking into account the balance between players of different platforms for filling content)?

The game will use origin no matter what store you buy from so I guess the benefit would be not having to have more than one store open to play.

I think the best solution would buy it where most of your friends are playing. easier to connect and such ^^

I did steam because most of my PC gaming buddies play on steam

@DJ_Englishman For what it's worth, i started messing around with the EA desktop beta when reinstalling BF3/4 again last week and it's a pretty decent step up from origin. (granted, that's not saying a whole lot as it generally needed two passes to install DLCs correctly. Desktop app did it first try)I've generally had the same friends list issues as mentioned by others on origin, and the EA desktop client pulled my steam friends list and for the short time i dabbled, did actually correctly show who was online and offline (with people on mixed platforms), as well as common games people have installed.That said, it's a beta and my test time is limited, so ymmv.Going to be checking again later tonight most likely, will see if it holds up again.

@ragnarok013 Oh, i found some bugs tonight :grin:Short short version, BF3 didn't register the DLCs and had to be reinstalled via origin, BF4 worked fine (apart from some weirdness with pings on server select), and BF5 had amnesia and wanted to start me a rank 1, at which point i panicked and went back to origin and thankfully cloud save restore was an option.The UI and social stuff is a big step up though, and i can hardly knock a beta for being buggy on the other stuff.Looks like it's going in the right direction vs origin at least.(i also like the video play in the background on the game pages)In fact, going to go play some BF4 again right now most likely.

@Fringerunner if you need to reinstall games to Origin from EA Desktop in the future you can copy the folder to another place, uninstall the game, then log into Origin, start the install, pause the install, move the full game into Origin's game directory, resume the install and speed the entire download significantly using this method.

@ragnarok013 It actually picked up the folders correctly (game and OS/origin disks are separate) but origin just went straight into repair mode as soon as i restarted it after running the EA desktop and experiencing the beta "features".

And yea, another reason for that disk split, saves a lot of time after clean installs just pointing steam/origin etc to the E:\games\ folder after the OS/client installs, as i'm guessing you know.
