AI troop skins for Specialists please

These are some of the coolest looking skins in the game! It would be sweet if we could work towards these skins as some type of legendary reward. Along with the ability to add the skin parts(helm or outfit) to whichever Specialist we choose.

Also why not open up the classic BF3 skins for Specialists? So that depending on which faction we are playing we either have the Russian or American uniform?

These assets are already modeled and in game.

  • I agree that it would be nice to have, but clarity is going to be an issue. It's going to be extremely annoying if you try to flush someone out of cover but didn't know they set up a trophy system because their Irish looked like an AI bot.

At the same time however, the argument can be made that it isn't a big deal if there isn't much clarity since Battlefield at its core is an arcade turn-your-brain-off kind of game. The option exists to play it competitively and try your best, but at its core it is a stress-free game where you can pretty much do whatever you want. If you take that approach to the game, then I guess it isn't a big deal if the unknown target you're chasing suddenly grows wings and escapes you because, surprise, they're Sundance the whole time.

I think a middle ground is what we need to reach here, because I agree that the American and Russian bots look extremely cool, and so do the old models from the old games in Portal. So I think the best case scenario, even though it would add more work, would be to make each of those models specially tailored for each specialist. Make them unlockables or something.

For example, Sundance's trooper outfit could have those bright highlights that they have on all their other outfits. Casper's trooper outfit can have a bit of ghillie on top. (Honestly Casper looks pretty cool already, lol)

And of course, the option should remain to use their regular looks as well, since the specialists are so finely crafted and have such attention paid to their personalities, they deserve to be shown by the players who appreciate those details.

@llllKylo_RenllllWho gives a * about “personalities”? Let’s be real. Specialists are gadgets with unique skins. Nothing more.

Battlefield has always been about the average soldier. If DICE truly wants to redeem themselves to the fans, they could start by getting us back to that “average soldier” vibe.  Delivering average soldier skins(that look AMAZING mind you) is a great place to start.  😊
