@OneDeadEye4 Ideally PC players should NEVER have aim assist. There should be full controller support, but no assist. That would be fair. Companies are more interested in sales though. That’s the problem. I’m personally completely over cross play because of that.
The design philosophy for PC should be to make controllers viable, but not to try and make them competitive against MnK. Aim assist has been over adjusted to the point where mouse players are at a disadvantage. It’s insulting.
I believe people on console when they’re saying it’s inconsistent. It’s probably frustrating for the majority of players. From my experience though, I’ve been absolutely lasered by level 1 players, obviously using the default M5A3, from a distance I couldn’t even see them, all while I was running behind pillars on the A objective of Hourglass. They shoot marksman rifles faster and more accurately than I can fire off the M5A3 at close ranges. My jaw drops all the time because I just can’t believe how quick and at the angles I get killed from. It’s mostly against console players.
I’d consider myself an above average sweaty player with literal decades of experience playing shooters. A lot of that time has been playing the Battlefield franchise. I’m not a pro or anything, but stating that to try and avoid the get good argument. I’m not complaining because I don’t do well. Look up my stats if you’re interested. I’m saying it because it doesn’t “feel” fair when playing. Statistically it might work out in the end. However, console players tend to have higher over all accuracy percentages and headshot accuracy.
That’s my rant. Just voicing my opinion so that by some slim chance it gets heard for the next installment of Battlefield.
The real fix is to make aim assist more consistent and to then lower it a little bit. That would probably be the most fair thing to do at this point.
