Aiming at a moving target with a controller... Any tips to improve?

I'd been playing COD on console for quite some time and my aiming was fine, but I feel like that's because the enemies are always closer to me as the maps are a lot smaller than BF.

This is my first BF on console (used to play previous BFs on PC), and when trying to hit moving targets it feels almost impossible. What happens is, let's say I'm on the roof of a building and see an enemy below but he's running... Well trying to keep the crosshair on him with a controller is hard as hell, whereas when using a mouse it's easy as I can control how fast I want the mouse to move and pretty much keep the crosshair on him the whole time, even when he's sprinting. Then when they stop, it gets even worse as my crosshair ends up several feet away from him and I can't get a good shot.

I know it's harder on controller, but like I said above I do absolutely fine in COD, which I assume is because of the smaller maps. So I was wondering if perhaps it's something to do with my aim sensitivity that needs to be set properly. In the situation noted above, would a lower or higher aim sensitivity help me keep my crosshair on a moving target? I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to aim sensitivity as I usually keep it on default, but don't want to make things even worse by messing around with it before getting some advice first.

Thanks guys.

  • @Vanch333 The aim assist is way to strong in cod so it does all of the work for you. Plus you can just hold down the trigger. There's much less aim assist in bf. But make sure "snap aim" is turned on in the settings. I think it's off by default.

In 2042 the number 1 thing you need to do is burst fire your trigger. So don't just hold it down like you can do in cod. There's alot of bullet spread in 2042 so burst firing really helps mitigate that.

I can track people using either my left or right thumb stick as they are running. You just need to move them at the same speed as your opponent is running
  • These 3 YouTube videos on my channel ClouDuSky Games will help you: “easiest way to aim on controller in 9 seconds”

“Easiest Way to Aim on ANY Controller”

    “Shortcut to Pro Aim Now!”

The “easiest way to aim on controller in 9 seconds” vid is mostly for left hand players but could work with either hand depending on the amount of experience you have been aiming with each hand. it can be a “mechanical” advantage depending on experience and whether you’re left handed
