Hi 🙂 In response to changes coming soon now in patch 0.4.1: AK24Removed the AK24 Semi Auto fire modeIncreased AK-24 Burst Mode rate of fire to 900RPMAC42Increased the AC42 distance damage dropoff at higher rangesI've seen a lot of posts about this already and I wonder too; why? AKs has in every Battlefield game been full auto + semi auto single fire, and now you remove it in favor of burst? We need single fire for distances above 50m (quite a lot in this game with these big maps), and single-fire sure is a lot more skillfull and rewarding gunplay to do than full auto spray n' pray. Is that what you want to encourage like the SMGs spray for the win? As for the increase in ROF for burst I fully agree, that has been painfully slow on the AK. And why even more nerfs to AC42? We need the damage at range for single-firing, it takes enough bullets to kill already so no need to increase that. If anything it should be less. Something is wrong when SMGs outperform ARs at practically any range, K30 and PP-29 has MORE minimum damage at range than the ARs do. Like, whaaaat?And speaking of the K30 which is ridicuolus and shreds people at insane ROF - that doesn't get a nerf at all but ARs like AC42 gets even more nerfs? It just doesn't make sense..Whats your opinion here on the forum guys?

@PapaDrach Nah, better to slightly buff DMRs then. Much better. Like higher dmg and less recoil or something.

@Metal_Daryl97 K30 is fair and balanced. It's my favourite SMG / AR / LMG / DMR all in one #WorkingAsIntended

They're doing it so people will stop using AR's in single fire that out pace the ease of killing enemies opposed to using a DMR. DMR's with slower RoF, slightly better damage, and higher recoil/accuracy makes spamming an AR in single fire with 4-6 shots much more appealing to use in various scenarios. Makes sense to me.

AK-24 should keep its semi-auto fire mode and undo nerfs to AC42

@JWGrasli No, because then you're in an arms race. Buffs and nerfs need to be selective, and DMR's kinda suck right now because AR's (and hell even SMG's and LMG's) often outclass them at range in terms of killing ability, while being much stronger at short/mid engagements.

AC42 was still super strong after the last nerf and needed a bit more of a nerf at long distances for being an AR and how accurate it is. But they need to do a pass on the other weapons as well, because they're out of whack too. AC42 was just the most obvious problem child given its fairly unique performance amongst AR's.

Pre 4.1, with the ac42 high power ammo, it takes 6 (75 - 150 m) or 7 shots (>150 m) to kill someone without armor. They already overnerfed the ac42 range, don't understand the further nerf
EDIT: the patch note was ambiguous - AC42 high power ammo effective range has actually been buffed, distance at which damage dropoff occurs has been increased. Must say i'm happy they made this change!

@edgecrusherO0 If DMRs "suck" they need to be buffed/improved, not other weapons nerfed down. Thats just not very smart. It worked in older BF2 and BF3 so why not now? BF2 had 2-3 bullets to kill for marksman, 3-4 for Assault not 6 like in 2042. Worked perfectly instead of the 2042s nerfing of semi-auto resulting in spray'n pray for the win like all SMGs etc here now. K30 is too powerful yet unchanged and SMGs in general have the same damage at range like ARs.. ? Doesnt make sense.

Instead revert latest AC nerf and buff DMRs if they are weak.

Nerfing the ac42 (further!) but not the k30 is beyond me! Almost as if they're trolling at this point

So now ac42 worse at range and worse at mid range because it has only burst and single fire modes. What is the spot for this AR right now?
