An Open Letter To Dice and EA (Long Read!!)

Dear Dice and EA,

First off I have played the battlefield franchise since it first started. I play on PC and have built PC's since the late 90's. I have played every major release on PC and no matter what I will pay for the highest version available to get all the extra maps and goodies. Battlefield has been one of my absolute favorite game franchises ever created which is why it pains me to write this letter. This game in its current state is not even worthy of the Battlefield name. What happened?? Why is it that more game content and game mechanics are getting stripped of this franchise as time goes on? You guys have completely changed so much stuff in this franchise that this game no longer even resembles a Battlefield title. Let me explain... This will be long but with all the frustration I see out there currently for this game and for the franchise in general I know I'm not alone in this. 

I remember playing BF2 which IMO is one of the greatest games ever created and from the transition of BF2 into BF:BC2 with the implementation of the Frostbite engine this game was heading to the stars. I remember the transition from BF:BC2 into BF3 an amazing leap at the time. Though IMO BF3 was still lacking in some aspects compared to BF2 or BC2 the game continued to be fun and improve. Then into the transition of BF3 to BF4 (Which also had a rocky launch) the game felt amazing. I think even to this day BF4 was the best incarnation of this franchise as a whole and still stands that way today IMO. Some people will like BF3/BF1/BF5 better but I'm more partial to BF4. More Maps, More Guns, Commander Mode, Great Squad Mechanics, Better server browsers, More vehicles, More Gadgets and a decent class system. Then something happened.. BF1 was ok but not great by any means.. BF5 was meh as well. Now I'm not saying these last two titles are horrible or not worth playing but I sure don't feel the same spark or feel the fun that BF4 had and all the previous Battlefields that came before it. When BF1 and BF5 came out the game started to completely change for the worse IMO, especially in the aspect of gun play mechanics. Not only that but other game mechanics and stuff started disappearing from the game too, things that made Battlefield the game it is. You guys were at the top of the mountain when BF4 came out and when it was stabilized it provided a solid and smooth enjoyable game experience unlike what we are all experiencing now with BF 2042. 

Now I play on PC only.. I have a Nvidia 3080ti GPU, an AMD Ryzen 9 5950x CPU, 64 GB's of Corsair Dominator Ram @ 3800mhz, and I play all this off a Sabrent Rocket M.2 4GB SSD. I have a 10GB internet home network with a dedicated Asus Rapture gaming router. Needless to say my PC is no slouch and should handle this game perfectly but even with all this great hardware the game barley runs decently at the lowest graphic settings. I have updated all the drivers and firmware as well and it remains clear that this game was NOT ready to launch. I can only imagine the frustration of people who play this game on console and don't have access to some of the workarounds a PC has in this game. But not only have you guys stripped so much from this game already it's literally unplayable in some aspects. 

Bugs I've experienced - 

Supply Drops that move at 1FPS.
The respawn bug that forces you to exit the game.
The "Persistence Error" that drops you to the Main Menu.
100's of graphical glitches across the board on all maps.
The worst packet loss I've seen in a game in awhile (Especially in AAA titles!!)
Scopes that get stuck where you can't use them to aim.
Basically unlimited vehicle spawn drop spam to building rooftops and other places. 
Hovercraft that scale walls like Spiderman.
Guns that barley work or even hit targets that are standing still all while watching the bullets go through their bodies outlining wall behind them.  
Unmarked team members making them look like the enemy.
Erratic Bloom and gun play mechanics (Bullets wildly off center targeting reticle target)
Over tuned/Under tuned vehicles. 
Map Spawn in Bug where it shows nothing on the map upon entering a game forcing you to exit. 
Infinite ticket bug where a game basically lasts forever potentially.
The massive lag spikes in game after game while dealing with extreme rubberbanding scenarios. 
Invincible dead enemy bug.
Player animations getting stuck while running. 
Players running in place due to extreme lag situations.
Player's shooting through solid walls.
My Bullets hitting an invisible wall in front of me firing from bushes, Foliage, etc.
On some spawns the Run Button or the Crouch Button doesn't work
The key binding issue where if you tried to bind anything in the mouse section it automatically binded it to MOUSE 5 or MOUSE 6 making people on PC delete their profile saves or reinstalling the game (I feel for the console players on this one.. They can't just go to the folder and erase it.

And this is only the tip of the iceberg of this game's bugs.

Now for the WTF?? Section...

Where's the Commander Mode?
Where's the dedicated private server browser this has been a STAPLE of BF since this franchise started. 
Why in god's name would you not make a screen to modify weapons/loadouts OUTSIDE of playing a match.
Maps are bland with maybe 2 good maps out the whole bunch. 
Why do we have HORRIBLE Operators and not a Class system? MANY of us come to Battlefield to escape the crappy COD mechanics. Now you've turned BF into COD. Also a BF Staple..
We can do without all of the needless cut scenes before a match. 
Why upon spawning in do we have this 1 second of animation checking your gun while getting shot at and not being able to respond? When I spawn into action on a squad mate I expect to be able to shoot RIGHT AWAY not sit there and check my gun as I'm getting shot.
Only 22 Guns and Attachments that have little to effect on how they play?
No Scoreboard???
No Leaderboards??
Limited and not so great options for Player Scorecard/Profile.
The Portal is better than this new game.
No Other Game Modes???
Trying to play with friends is a mess??
No Squad Options??

Come on man!!

I'm sure I can probably list more but this is just the stuff off the top of my head. 

You guys released this game unfinished with no signs of polish anywhere. What did you guys do for the last 3 years? You guys could've reskinned BF4 and touched up the engine a bit and you would've had a winner of a BF game. You guys basically gave us a second Beta. Until you guys release a decent BF game or somehow fix the mess that is this game I will not be buying any future BF titles because it doesn't even feel like a BF title anymore. In fact the only part of this game that even remotely resembles BF is the Portal and not the actual game. Even the BF3 portal offering has a FAR better feel and old school BF gunplay that made this franchise great. Right now this game in it's current state is nothing but a disappointment and a disservice to the Battlefield name. I would go as far as to "unrelease" it until it's more polished or at least in a playable state.
