Happy Silent Monday! Let's see if we get the "close" of the feedback loop this week and if it's worth anything, or if it's just more placating BS from DICE while they continue to refuse to engage with the community.
Excited for more silence about the April update as well!

Don't know if this is true, but BF Bulletin has a screenshot from "someone". Have no clue if this is real or not.

- 4 years ago@Adamonic There's a post in the Announcement forums in response to the 3.3 thread and IT CONTAINS AN APOLOGY...for the delay in communication, still no apology for launching a buggy, unfinished game or its overall handling.
I swear, getting a communication from DICE is like pulling teeth. - 4 years ago
i'll log in on thursdays, do the weekly mission and that's it. 500+ hours and lack of new content has it so i don't want to play other than weeklys

Sentiment might be at an all-time low for the BF franchise and DICE. Players continue to leave this game.
And yet DICE remains, silently observing and seemingly unconcerned.
But hey, apparently comms are coming according to Marcus Lehto and the DICE CM's keep saying it's coming. I just hope we get off this, "FINE, we'll communicate with you once a month if that will shut you up" mentality and there's a hint that DICE actually cares about the community and wants to engage with them to help turn this disaster around. I feel like even in his role not as a CM, Marcus is doing more to try to give folks a reason to believe in Battlefield than the entirety of DICE right now, and he's not even doing that much (not his fault, he's new in the role and building a new team, he's not in charge of 2042).
I'm just wondering if we'll ever hear from Vince now that he's overseeing the franchise.

Since launch the low active player count on Steam never dipped below 2K players for more than 5 days straight (normally all weekdays). This was a normal occurrence every week in March. However, we now have hit 8 straight days and the first weekend where the low active player count dipped below 2K on Steam. It was also the first weekend where the peak active players did not hit 3K.
The average player count for the last 30 days is down to 2K and falling.
It looks like Steam is between 20-25% of the potential player count (Origin/Steam/PS/XBox). So at best 3K on Steam is 15K total players (if Steam is only 20% share) and at worst 2K is 8K players (if Steam is 25%).Right now BF2042 has less active players on Steam than BFV, BF1, AND BF4!
- 4 years ago@Adamonic And what's worse, BF4/1/V all launched on Steam years after it launched on Origin, while 2042 launched on both platforms on the same day.
Sure makes you wonder why DICE doesn't seem more motivated to move quickly, unless they've already determined to abandon the "minimum-viable-product" they shipped with "minimum-viable-support" while hoping us idiots buy the next game. - Straatford874 years ago

This is accurate. We're looking to get the Core Feedback - Maps follow-up post out to you this week.

@Straatford87Get rid of them, the end. This shouldn't require discussion unless EA is still trying to sell people on the original hero shooter attempt.

Thank God. I hope the fans vote to remove the specialists completly. Battlefield was always known to be an "unknown soldier". You're one among many. To win a match you need to work as a team. Nothing better than "unknown soldiers". And not turrents spotting everybody and everyone else proned alongside it.

Are you guys ever gonna address the terrible capped XP? https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/Latest-Update-about-Solo-Co-Op-and-Custom-Portal-Progression/m-p/10955718/highlight/true#M32401 You have A LOT OF REPLIES in this exact forum waiting for answers. We want to play this game and enjoy it but your terrible decisions and lack of communication has resorted to us giving up on the game we paid for. We just wanna progress like everyone else in PvE form.

You do not need yet one more thread for the subject of Specialists for the feedback loop.
You already have around 1,000 threads on this forum on the subject of "Specialists"...
So far the paying customers have delivered plentiful of well-meant feedback to EA/DICE.
Suggest EA/DICE are now true to their marketing stunt and starts to deliver from their side for the loop to be established, because so far there is no loop.
- 4 years ago@Straatford87 What has the team learned from reading the voluminous feedback over the past 5 months though?
Why does it need another thread at this point so everyone can repeat everything that's been said here, on Twitter, on Reddit, on YouTube, and elsewhere?
Why does each thread take a month to process? Why does everything with this game seemingly take forever and come a day late and a dollar short?
I don't mean to be super * since it's great seeing at least one of the CM's leave the ivory tower to interact with us plebs, but we need some meaningful communication rather than repeating the same things over and over. Engagement is a two way street, it requires giving a little and taking a little, and it feels like DICE is only doing the latter right now, not the former. - 4 years ago@Straatford87 ARE YOU GUYS REMOVING THEM?! i know you are not, but are you at least giving us the option to create our own class. feeling bound to a "specialist" it is the most limiting thing your team could have done to us.
- 4 years ago@CyberDyme There is a feedback loop, and its the paper shredder.
- 4 years ago@Straatford87 Another question: Why does everything seemingly take forever? Is this an engine limitation? Is this the pace we can expect more fixes and changes to arrive at? Is there a bottleneck?
Because the patch cadence/scope so far really sucks, and even with next month being a "big" patch - which is offset by the lack of any patches in Feb and how tiny the Jan/March patches were - it really feels like the work on this game is moving at a snails pace.
Maybe like...time for a new engine for the next game if Frostbite really is like trying to build a sandcastle in a sandbox filled with razor blades and asbestos? - 4 years ago
Specialists? Oh, you mean the derpy goofball characters jammed in this game that destroyed the entire fanbase of BF and even then don't work all that well considering they kill immersion, irritate people with their voicelines more than bugs do and everyone basically uses the same ones with the same loadouts all the time?
- ATFGunr4 years agoLegend@Adamonic Lol you just got Smithed! (Too soon?) I love his comment as it at least confirms they’re reading, thanks @Straatford87.

- 4 years ago@PBS141GHOST Specialists, apparently. Probably starting in April as these "loops" seem to be on a one-month cadence. Everything at DICE seems to move painfully slowly.

DICE: Highlights rendezook in the CGI trailer getting everyone mad-hype for the game.
BF2042 player: Perfectly executes rendezook...doesn't actually work.
https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/tqxwg5/cmon_dice_even_this_isnt_working_properly/
Does anything in this game work as intended? It's wild how incredible EA's marketing department did of knowing how to sell a BF game to BF fans, while DICE absolutely failed to deliver on anything hyped up in the trailers.
Maybe EA's marketing team should handle development on the next game, they seem to have a better idea of what BF fans actually want.
