Anti-vehicle rockets awful

I only started playing a week ago, and I have used almost everything, if not everything anti-vehicle except mines in the game.

So far, the damage they do is entirely ineffectual. Anti-air takes time to lock-on and you’re lucky you get a hit: three hits, lucky if you get a hell down to 50% health. Anti-tank grenades, barely any damage. Anti-tank guided rockets are hard to get a hit at range, two hits: 30% damage on a tank?

In return, a heli or tank looks at you, one hit, boom you are dead. The effort required on their behalf is minimal in comparison to the effort required to even hit them and yet do such minimal damage.

I want to level Mastery, but right now, anti-air or tank rockets and grenades are so bad it only angers me to switch off the game. Never in BF history has it ever been so bad for infantry attacking vehicles.

No, I am not saying triple the power, but in the very least, two direct hits from a guided rocket should severely damage a vehicle.

@AnobixSeems it can only be a waiting game then: someone else waste their time doing some or more damage, and I kill steal with a finishing rocket. Not keen on that as I can’t stand having my time wasted doing some damage and another getting the kill. Against soldiers it’s fine, easy kills, but vehicles require far more concentration and time invested.

I will completely agree with that, at least in the latest patch they made kill assists work with as little as 1 damage on the vehicle. Gone goes the technology, apparently, where you'd get XP/Points based on the damage points done to vehicles and infantry and "assist count as kill"

  • I feel that relying on a squad coordination is mostly hopeless unless you have a group of friends who you chat with.

I suspect the best play would be to team up with Rao or look for team members who also are handling AA and go for the same target(s).   I play Rao exclusively and it seems when I hack air vehicles and a teammate is aware of it, the vehicle comes down with rockets fairly easy or land vehicle Kaboom!

I only play solo and don't use a microphone or chat.

Every round can be different but experienced infantry players work together all the time when a tank or any ground vehicle is in sight.

Battlefield players know that every time you hit a vehicle you've just increased the odds that it will be destroyed.

Inexperienced players just don't understand how Battlefield works and want an easy press X to kill vehicle game.

@Kameleonic i meant spawn in one and use it a few times. After you've been destroyed several times by all the rockets, c5, mines, grenades, rifles and air attacks that you have zero defense against then come back and tell us how you feel about tanks being OP

BF games tries to make combined warfare work. Dice has never really found the perfect formula, but in general things work ok (map design is very important as well).

In reality everything is "nerfed into the ground", vehicles do little damage to infantry and rockets do little damage to vehicles. Vehicles are probably more realistic than anti-vehicle rockets (but fewer in numbers).

If the anti-vehicle systems were realistic there would be only dead vehicles in the game or the number of anti-vehicle-players had to be limited at lot.

The existing system is probably the best way of doing things, trying to make it fun for everyone.

I have been using M5 recoilless since the beginning and I was always using them on infantry to get them pissed off :D. Later I decided to T1 master it so I started to shoot the vehicles. Now I am at mastery 35, need to reach 40 meaning I should get 50 more vehicles destroyed. If you are a lonewolf like me and want to destroy the vehicles easily with M5, the best way is to track the vehicles and see how much health they have. If there are on low health, fire it and they are done. Plus light armor and transport vehicles (car, motorbile etc.) are much easier to destroy with m5.
