Are there any new releases expected for maps in BF2042 (either remakes in Portal or new creations)?
One of the devs posted a album cover of the seventh son of the seventh son album cover. Some speculate it is a reference to a 7th season. That is all we have.

Set your expectations as low as possible and you won't be disappointed. Like others have said, they have hinted at a Season 7 that will more than likely bring a new map.
They have never discussed any additional map updates or reworks, so I doubt we see any with this title.
My dream would be that we get 1 new map and 3 new weapons and at mid point another map and portal weapons. That would make me go wild. Too bad it wont happen.
I'd like to see Karkand from BF2 and Golmud from BF4 or ever better the Golmud night that was developed and played in the test environment but never released.

Unfortunately, you know that those extra resources (if any) have been re-assigned to other projects (maybe a BF6 or something)
