I didn't misunderstand you. It's just been my experience that "trash talk" among strangers in MP games isn't usually just friendly ribbing. I find that those who do it tend to mean it more often than not and then go into passive-aggressive mode when called on it. ....e.g. "can't you take a joke", "no need to get triggered", etc., etc. proximity chat,
In either case, I'm just saying I find little to no use in global chat. ....in-game voice comms with your team on the other hand is a different story.
Personally, I think the comms in Hell Let Loose are a great example of a really good system. You can choose to talk to just your squad or your team through proximity chat, etc. More importantly, you can do all this while using something like PS party chat with your friends through the press of a button.
