What I find with regards to squads; there is hardly any good squad play. In BF4, I would often play an engineer. But if the whole squad of randoms that I would squad up with play as an engineer, I would play as a support or assault/medic. Also, you could easily see who is playing as what because there was an icon next to player names in the hud.
In BF2042, I can't tell who's playing what because everyone has access to all gadgets. Makes the whole the game a free for all. Literally, every squad I've played with does whatever they want and runs in all directions. No squad play at all. And if by some miracle I do end up in a good squad, I'll never see them again in the next round because of this stupid matchmaking!
