Oh just to add: Please consider this FEEDBACK (No pun) - the hit feedback/bullet contact audio is a little wishy washy/weak. Also the headshot sound is not tremendous for my personal taste.

While the sound is undoubtedly better than it was at launch, I can't agree with this.
Sound in 2042 is muddy and overly compressed. The dynamic range is limited, which makes it difficult to hear footsteps and other environmental cues when playing. It's possible for a tank to sneak up on you in this game.

BF-games have always sounded good, but have had issues with missing sounds (footsteps, vehicles etc). BF1 and BFV improved things a lot though.
2042 is a step back from the previous games and the audio is now pretty worthless for anything else than the 'cinematic feel'. Footsteps are like BF4 (almost non existent), any sense of distance is totally lost and vehicles are often almost silent even when close.- 3 years ago
