@HugeBignessSorry mate I need to respectfully disagree. While they’ve done mood music ok, the sound effects of weapons and vehicles is sorely lacking. Past games recorded actual gun fire and used it in game. 2042 sounds like generic game files used to make pretend gunfire. Take the M16 for example, you should be able to hear the return spring cycle as you fire. It should also be louder in your right ear. I have decent Sennheiser headphones and can tell you that even BadCo 2 had better sound. Frankly these days with the quality of recording equipment and access to firearms there’s not a reason, except cost, to use such generic sounds. Footsteps are also so odd. Are they 2’ away or 20’? I can’t tell without looking, and again past games did this much better.

All fair points.
BF1 and BFV were something special. In my opinion.
As for positional audio, I have never seen BF as a 'competitive' game - I just enjoy immersion and cinematic audio - they may have dumbed down the positional audio accuracy to close the skill gap and mitigate the absurd mixing of input methods due to crossplay. I can only speculate what they had to do to due to Crossplay implementation and a seeming complete lack of input based matchmaking.
On another note - I don't think the music from BF1 will ever be rivaled
