It sounds counterintuitive but I've had moderate success planting mines where tanks and other vehicles really shouldn't be going - I've found players love pushing the boundaries on what should be considered insane and pointless like inside buildings, up stairs, and anything that resembles a ramp of 10 degrees or higher
