@Anobix At this point with the player numbers as low as they are, maybe they need to turn the "X players needed to start" and if even just 1 person goes in to play it backfills with AI. Then MM can add real people when they are looking for a game. They do it in PvE. Problem is, would they then want to limit the progression.....

I think in PVE it limits to a 64 player game, not 128, so I don't know if it would be a 1:1 situation unless they kept it at 32v32 and as more players joined it fills up to the 128 player limit?

There are several ways they could make the MM more sophisticated. It could look at the number of concurrent server instances, in the region, for that playlist, in the past hour and adjust the minimum player start threshold accordingly.
They could also look at remaining tickets/timer on matches an avoid placing new joiners into rounds that are about to end. Its ridiculous that the MM puts me into matches and it ends (usually loss) before I even have a chance to spawn. It should have just waited 30 more seconds. I get that they are trying to manage queue times and prevent unnecessary spin up of new server instances to reduce cost. But, I'd much rather sit in a queue for 30 more seconds than be put into a round that immediately ends (especially when it ends with loss).
