While Battlefield has always been about combined arms, vehicles and mobility for infantry via various types of unarmed or lightly armed transports, I don’t ever recall playing as infantry being such a never ending battle against flying death machines almost every single minute of the match like we experience in 2042.
Keep in mind that there are always many more players running around as infantry than are in vehicles in any given match so while vehicles are indeed an iconic and necessary part of the BF franchise, infantry players aren’t present to simply be fodder and easy exp for vehicles.
What makes things worse for infantry in 2042 versus previous BF games is being constantly “insta” killed by low skill stealth bombs, as well as low skill 30mm, 40mm or 50mm cannons several times a match with ZERO warning. This makes for an extremely frustrating experience and doesn’t feel much like Battlefield.
All 30mm, 40mm and 50mm needs to be completely removed from all “transports” and replaced by .50 cal machine guns or 7.62 minigun.
Stealth Helo is broken OP. It’s strong against infantry, strong against vehicles and strong against other aircraft. Pick ONE please DICE. This airframe needs more weaknesses. For starters, bombs OR 30mm cannon. Not both. The .50 cal machine gun(not the 50mm cannon) would be a viable replacement for the 30mm if the players chooses bombs. The .50 caliber machine gun would be strong vs aircraft and light armor. If you choose No bombs then you’d get the 30mm. The skill bar for a pilot using the .50 cal to take out infantry would be much higher, bringing a bit of sanity to this broken OP, god of war airframe.
I think the stealth helo should also be vulnerable to all forms of small arms fire, not just armor piercing. Also any type of small arms fire should knock it out of stealth. It’s absolutely ridiculous seeing it fly overhead impervious to all forms of infantry weapons.
One other thing, fix the damned Wildcat AA tank! This tank is squishier than the Condor and Hind, its not very fast or maneuverable unlike the BF3 AA tank we can play on portal, and the range of the AA missiles is laughable. Not to mention the fact that the 40mm and 57mm flak rounds for the Wildcat don’t have proper flak physics. I.e. the rounds don’t explode mid air near what we are shooting at like proper flak.

The Stealth should only last a set amount of time, then go into a cooldown

Here is a video on how to counter the stealth helicopter.

Stealth helo is:
- strong vs enemy infantry
- strong vs enemy air
- strong vs vehicles
- strong vs Wildcat AA tank(partially because the Wildcat is a TRASH AA platform)
- has flares and stealth
That’s all in a single loadout. 30mm plus AT missiles or plus AA missiles. Either loadout excels versus all enemy types. That’s the very definition of broken.
DICE needs to pick ONE of the above and give this abomination some weaknesses.
- bombs OR 30mm cannon. Not both. Replace the 30mm with .50 caliber anti vehicle machine gun if the player opts for bombs.
- player opts for 30mm cannon = no bombs.
- the current 30mm cannon is the old broken 30mm before DICE nerfed it. It was nerfed because it was broken OP.
- any type of small arms fire should do damage to the stealth helo and also break stealth once a certain damage threshold has been reached.- MoeGunnzz2193 years agoNew Vanguard
Ok so I was playing the other night and I was using Rao to hack the helos and couple of other players used the AA missiles to shoot it down. It can be countered through teamwork.

In a heli most of the suggestions are easy to avoid, so again not an option.
