remember after chapter 4 in BFV they promised the same thing and to listen to the community, yet they went and changed the TTK another two times against the wish of basically all players in thr forums, in fact i am sure not a single person asked for another entire blank TTK redo...
Yep agreed @X-Sunslayer-X ,
Talk is cheap!
And from the EA/DICE marketing BS machine we got plenty of that in recent months, up until launch of the final product.
And it was evident to all what a terrible poor shape and mess it was in.
And nowhere near to be able to offer a gaming experience it was all hyped up to give us.
Its been a devastating poor launch so far, we have less than 10,00 players remaining in daily gaming on it now, just a few weeks after launch on Steam. Even after a free week of play also on some platforms. The list of most critical items to get fixed to bring this back in just basic shape is very long and so far no messaging or actions to be seen so far from EA/DICE to even addressing them.
Their announced season upgrades and new contents to come in March is way too long for most to wait for.
We may risk this is indeed the end of this franchise if not getting serious fixing done by EA/DICE before then, as most players have already moved on to other games.
I've been struggling to work out how large the player base is with only Steam to go off.
I was about to pick a PS5 copy up for £30, which I think is a fair price for the game.
But if it's tanking even harder than I thought then I'll hold out and see if I can get a bargain.

I think Steam-stats is pretty accurate and even if you add some to it its still a very small playerbase for a new AAA game - and still dwindling ; Battlefield 2042 Is In Such Horrible State More People Are Now Playing Battlefield V On Steam - YouTube
@Stew360 Those Happy Clappy pills you use, can I have some ? You really remind me of Baghdad Bob back from 2001 who is in totaly denial of the current state of (insert topic here)

I intentionally bought it from Origin because I prefer it over Steam. So I am not included in the Steam numbers. I play on PC on 64 player mode and TDM portal. I have yet to not be able to get in a game. Usually takes less than a minute to join a match. I do have cross play turned on. They can't base it solely on Steam. I'm quite certain I am not the only one that purchased it on Origin (which gets you around having to link your Steam account to Origin and cuts out the Steam middle man).

Xbox provides some insight into the game's popularity. BF2042 ranked #16 on Xbox when it first released. Now if ranks #36 one month later.

My post from a month ago when BF2042 ranked #16 on Xbox.

Only EA/DICE know how many PC installs are through Origin and how many players are playing on Playstation and Xbox editions of the game
If we assume that the proportions of Steam players (not absolute numbers) are broadly reflective of the engagement trends across all platforms, then the title of the video and the thread where the numbers are repeated and the thesis - that 2042 has lost over 90% of its playerbase - is false in the most basic way: It gets simple facts wrong. Arguably, the mistake -- taking all-time low player count and suggesting that this is a permanent loss of player-base -- is so egregious that I wonder if it's not deliberate. No one can really be that stupid, can they? I'll let you and everyone else be the judge of that.
Comparing like-for-like, the Steam charts show a net loss of about 64% percent of peak concurrent players over the all-time peak (as of time of writing), which is by no means good, but not the gaming apocalypse implied by the thread and video title. This is because the charts do not show, for instance, length of engagement or unique logins. Take the interpretation of the Steam figures in the video with a large pinch of "that particular 'content creator' is innumerate."
The video is a great example of why no one should get their news from YouTube without checking it. It is disappointing that this claim has since been repeated as "the truth" and has been repeated without even a scintilla of rational thinking, such as, you know, checking the numbers that form the premise of the claims made.
With regard to the matchmaking times, I wonder how much time people consider too long to wait for a match, and at what times. During afternoons and evenings on PC in the UK, the matchmaking takes less than ten seconds for me. There may be issues with the matchmaking on the consoles, however, so I can't speak to that.
- frekwalda14 years agoSeasoned Ace@filthy_vegans well must be nice to get in a game. I have not been able for a month now with cross play off and i am in northern canada. When cross play is on not even playable for me as it seems i am nowhere near a server in my region. This is why i like server browser and can pick by region and ping.

You should Really lose that "everything is fine" attitude. I am on the EU Servers aswell. From 18:00 to 22:00 more then 50% of the Matches are starting as bot Matches with around 12-16 Players each Side. Yesterday we had to wait 5 minutes in the "pre-match"-lobby for Players to join. The Game started with 10 vs 12.
The 90% might be wrong, but the Problem is still there. Yet you are trying to deny it, even in a completely different post.

I'll thank you not to tell me what I should or should not do.
I'm not trying to deny that a problem exists; I have only reported the facts of my case. I can't (and didn't) talk about your case.
I have noticed that the matchmaker puts me into Japanese servers when I play with my friend in Beijing if he initiates the party. Perhaps something like that is happening to you and your friends.

I can't even get a match to start since nobody is joining the servers. This franchise has been going downhill after bad company 2. Things were looking better with V and 1, but now they just made themselves the cyberpunk of 2021. I hope my favorite franchise of all time will turn it around, but I'm almost completely out of hope for that.
