Battlefield 2042 - Open Beta FAQ
Good news, No-Pats: Early Access for the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta will be available starting October 6, with full access starting October 8th and running until October 10th. For many of you this will be the first hands-on opportunity with Battlefield 2042 and we’re excited to see you there!
When is the Open Beta available?
Pre-load begins on October 5 (at 07:00 UTC on all platforms), but not everyone will be able to access the Open Beta at the same time. Early access is available October 6–7 (start playing at 07:00 UTC all platforms on 10/06) for anyone who has pre-ordered Battlefield 2042 or is an EA Play member. General access begins on October 8 (at 07:00 UTC on all platforms), at which point anyone can join the fight.
Where can I play the Open Beta?
The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta is available to play on PC (via Origin, EA app, Steam, and Epic) and console (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S). Please note, PlayStation Plus is not needed to participate in the Open Beta, however, if you're playing on Xbox you will need to be an Xbox Live Gold subscriber.
What will I experience during the Open Beta?
Adapt and overcome in the near-future, all-out war of Battlefield 2042. Put boots on the ground in the classic Conquest mode on Orbital – a map where enemy fire and chaotic weather conditions can help or hinder your fight.
What languages are available in the Open Beta?
The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta will only be available in English.
Can I talk / post / create content about / or stream the Open Beta?
Yes, absolutely! We encourage players to have fun, share the experience with friends, and capture as many only-in-Battlefield moments as possible. You'll even be able to share those videos, images, etc. on our upcoming Community Content page.
Will my Open Beta progress carry over to the full game at launch?
No, your Open Beta progress won't carry over to Battlefield 2042 once it launches.

How do I unlock Open Beta early access?
You can get access to the Open Beta starting October 6 if you've pre-ordered the game or are a current EA Play member. If you pre-ordered a physical copy of the game, make sure you redeem the pre-order code that the retailer gave you when you purchased it. If you're an EA Play member, be sure you're logged into the correct account to get early access.
