Battlefield 2042 - Overprice Russian segment

Greetings to all fans of the Battlefield series. I have been a representative of the Russian-speaking Battlefield community since 2004. On the nose is the release of a new part of the Battlefield called 2042, where, judging by the statements and videos, there will be interesting modes where the number of players in one session has been increased, and the game engine has now been finalized frostbite 4.

It's all cool and interesting, but! I have a question! Why is the price so high in the Russian segment?

Battlefield is some kind of console exclusive, are some new gaming technologies used? What is the reason for the high cost of the game? Can you describe the points?

The red price of this part, for a Deluxe edition of no more than 1000 rubles, why the price is unreasonably high is not clear!

  • @DieselWRX trying to understand your question here, you are complaining about the price being to high ?

In Norway, where I'm from, the price for the gold edition equals to 7500 RUB, which is around the "new normal". The prices for games have increased all around and it is what it is... There are also taxes etc that differ from country to country to consider, some counties have higher taxes than others.

Is it a console exclusive ? No, the game is not...
New gaming technologies ? Yes, latest version of Frostbite is used...
  • The Ultimate price is high for everyone.

I have yet to meet a single sane person that is willing to pay that much for a few cosmetics.

    Made you click.

Yeah, I'm calling YOU not sane!
  • Well, this is not an exclusive for the console, and the differences with the first version of frostbite are minimal, or maybe not at all, as was the case with the previous part of the battle (I was surprised, the destructibility remained unchanged since bf bc2, and shots through static objects appeared as a plus such as ground).

So I just want people to turn on their heads and think if the game is worth the money and think and see how games are created.

Ps. I understand that there are those who just do not care about the price, and they are ready to take games for both $ 200 and $ 1000.

@DieselWRX "the differences with the first version of frostbite are minimal" ?? so you only see minimal difference in the first version of frostbite from 2008 used in Bad Company with the latest one used in BF2042 ?? ...

i dont really understand what you are trying to say... might be a language / translation barrier... it sucks if the game is more expensive in your region, but here the base version of the game is still the same price as every other game base versions.

@F3NN3XUltimate purchased in Norway was roughly US$120 i believe, I'm guessing he means ultimate rather than deluxe, so in that case 8750r (rounded up on the 50) if he bought it in Norway.

Or he means it's an extra 1000r from standard to deluxe, i'm honestly slightly confused as well.

I can't figure out if he feels there should be a discount based on some kind of console exclusivity (afaik there isn't) or because the game engine isn't built from scratch for each game or if it's the price itself that's the problem.

I believe, and I could well be wrong, that they're asking for region based pricing. Don't think that's something which will happen though, based on when people have asked for this in the past.

  • Yea yea! Frostbite 1.5 and Frostbite 3 not far apart. When this year I played bf 1 and after a little in bf 5, I was very surprised at the quality of the destruction of buildings. The quality of destructibility remained practically unchanged. those. Suppose in bf bc2 one plate collapsed into two parts, then in the last parts it collapses in the same way, into 4 parts. excellent progress in 7-8 years.

@DieselWRX So you don't want to pay the asking price because you don't feel there's been enough changes in the game engine over the years?

No disrespect intended at all when i say this, but the obvious answer seems to be, don't buy it or wait a while until it goes on sale?

So you played beta, and what do you think? Is this game worth that much money? is the cost justified?
