With announcement of persistent server browser that could potentially lead to a server browser it could mean a year 3 of content. Because, I don't know about the rest of you, but if a new BF game comes out this year I'm done with BF 2042.Why spend and dedicate this amount of time adding a server browser when another BF comes out. I believe it's hard work to incorporate this into a game not impossible just a lot of work.How are the release dates usually for BF titles and how long after live service cut off does the next BF usually come out?Would everyone want to see a year 3? I'd be ok with it. But, definitely need more content especially in the way of maps. I feel like that's what's holding this game back more maps and a proper way of keep players together after a match.D

Straight from the horses mouth (EA)A Persistent Server means your Server remains visible within the Server Browser even without active players. This will enable communities to stay together across their favourite servers, without needing to wait for the Server Owner to come online and activate the Server.So for the private/portal communities means the server will always be their for people to join.BUT what we really want is a server browser but i think that request has been flogged to death

Maybe some form of rcon tools to interact with the server via a web browser or something. \\@ForumUser thanks yep looks like it didn't attach the closing paren )

Persistent server improvements could just mean for portal. I'm going to wait and see.

Going out on a limb here

Im going to predict the next battlefield game will be out Q4 in 2025, but history would say Q4 2024 with a trailer about July 2024.

I think we will get a long season 7 followed by a long season 8, followed by some game life improvements but that will be it

We should prob get some sneak peaks and leaks when the new BF is about 12 months away.

@D-Man3847I don’t think we’ll see a new BF until at least 2025, and I think there is an outside chance this could be the last as it tanked so hard. I think the player base is there if they do.

@ATFGunr The reason why 2042 tanked was because they flacked it up themselves, there's no one else to blame for this but DICE or EA or Both.

They released it in a terrible state, they included no real Chat features, No Server Browser / Persistent Servers, and of course No Campaign Mode which you would be surprised at how many people actually like to play.

And last of all, they have given us less than Half the amount of Maps we should have by now.

I was thinking the same thing. 2024 is way too soon for another BF title unless it's some sort of small stand alone one. But, probably not.
If they want to stick to their usual Winter releases, then 2025 makes the most sense. Debut a teaser trailer in about a year from now. 2 maps season 7 and probably 2 maps season 8 so a totall of 17 maps, PS2 games had more at launch. That's kind of sad actually.

If you look at the release cadence there, almost every game was about 2 years apart. 2042 will have been out for 3 by the end of 2024. That said, the last thing I want is a rushed piece of crap after 2042, so whatever they release next better be damn good with relatively minimal issues at launch that don't take 6-12+mo to fix (ADS bug, anyone?)
