I discovered a work-around assuming you bought on steam.
1. reboot your computer
2. open origin
3. open steam
4. verify file integrity on steam
5. just as the verification finishes launch 2042 from origin
6. wait for steam to do initial setup
7. launch from origin again
This should force a 2:2600J error code while launching 2042. If it doesn't crash the game outright, you'll be redirected to the main menu.
@BLJGEcakes Where have you found this workaround? Do you think this is reproducable on a origin only copy aswell?
- 4 years ago@xVSG_KennY I found this by brute forcing it myself. Unfortunately I do not know enough about origin to suggest a way to reproduce this glitch.

Welp. I contacted their support on every possible platform. Nobody has an answer for our problem.

Hey guys, so my friend was able to launch the game tonight. Not sure if this really is a fix for the problem or if we just got lucky with the launch. (We dont want to close the game right now as its working for once).
Note: There is a new Nvidia graphics driver.. we downloaded and installed this one.
Please do the following at your own risk! :
We have disabled the Windows Defender Firewall and were able to launch the game. Possibly we might have just gotten lucky. I will let you guys know ASAP.
1. Open up the Windows Control Panel
2. Go to System and Security
3. In the left pane, choose "Turn Windows Firewall on or off"
4. For both, private networks & Gues or public networks select "Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended)"
5. If your origin was still open -> Close it
6. Otherwise open Origin and try to launch your game
Hope i was able to help you guys until they release an official fix!
Edit: Please let me know if this is working for you 🙂
