@Netranger9the core of the game is broken with very little balance and terrible map designs.Specialists, especially Mackay and Sundance broke the BF formula and made the gameplay too randomized.Arguably the worst net code ever designed for an FPS. We have hit reg issues 2 years post-launch.45Hz servers in 2023, soon to be 2024 is borderline criminal at this point.Quick Play and matchmaking is the only method to join a game, that works great for a Battle Royale game, but not for BF. A Server Browser is a must.Launched in 2021, and still in 2023, very little destruction and levelution, which was a hallmark of previous BF games.Player movement is still clunky, you can't swim underwater, don't try to move backwards when prone, how about leaning? Nah, that was so 2013. Let me sidestep slowly into view to be aim-assisted to death and killed behind cover. Some actions take so long to complete that you are dead before you can even complete them. Oh, there is a one-foot high bump, impossible for a human to jump that, let's do a delayed climbing animation so I can be shot while looking cool.Vehicle physics are still way off, like we are fighting on another planet where everything is floaty with less gravity. A small little rock can stop a tank going full speed like it hit a brick wall or launch you 30 feet in the air.Mouse input is still delayed, and from the sounds of it, on purpose. There is better mouse response in PowerPoint than in an FPS, and some things are impacted on the server side which is mind-boggling.Again no different than any other BF game.Oh I almost forgot the least amount of content for any BF title, the fewest weapons, vehicles, and maps, which is the content we pay for. The game was the most expensive of any title, yet we got the least amount of "game" in the series. Go figure, almost like they only exist to make the biggest profit possible with the lowest amount of overhead.

It definitely is the worst BF in the franchise out of the titles I've played (BF1942, BF3, BF4, BF1 and BFV). I think @Adamonic summarized it pretty well. The whole specialist concept is completely out of tune with what Battlefield used to be, and solely implemented to sell cosmetics. Meanwhile the lack of proper content (Maps, weapons, vehicles, NOT SKINS) at this point also makes this title the worst in the franchise. Just give us back premium and seasonal DLC with 4 new maps and other content, I'll pay for that, I won't pay for any cosmetics!I have switched crossplay off at PS5, and that should be a default for any platform! That experiment failed miserably and crossplay should only be an option to those who want to play with friends on different platforms. Otherwise everybody should be kept within their own eco-system to keep things fair.We need a server browser and persistent servers that play a map rotation, not this quickmatch principle currently present in the game.All in all, I will not pre-order or order the next BF at launch. Only when user reviews after launch are positive I will buy.

@Adamonic You summed it up super well. They have ample time and opportunity to learn from the mistakes made with 2042 if they choose to listen (no bets on that). Crossplay has to be an option, not a requirement. PC players think consoles have an advantage, and vice versa, the only fix is to revert to crossplay off as default for whatever game they make next. It’s a failed experiment as they suck at it. If they’ve adjusted a mouse to be worse just to provide consoles with an advantage rather than give them M&K ability, then they can kiss my grits. There’s a growing group of crossplay off players for the PC and the game players pretty smooth as long as they’re in region. So many lessons for Dice…

I don't know about worst in the series "Hardline I'm looking at you" but is incredibly poor for a company who used to put out good games.

@ATFGunrI think that we have seen that there are server-side mouse settings from the last patch. I can see no other reason there would be these settings unless they are trying to make console players even with M&K players and that really bites!Cross play off should be the default setting but here we sit with this monstrosity.And they still haven fixed the mouse mushiness.So sad.

@Netranger9 Battlefield 4 after launch became a very good game which battlefield 2042 still sucks escpesially if you are a vehicle player having to deal with all thoose specialists over powered AAS camping at spawn (renewal map) hitting me across THE WHOLE MAP then lissiles which if you know what you re doing you can dodge them. Then we also have maps shaped like renewal for instance exposure had 2 ways the pilot could avoid the aa under layer and upper but renewal breakaway and even discarded lack thoose things then we also have the fxm AA as a help to the aas and the jets the brawlers the mav the tank with the tow missile even barely anywhere to hide in such maps ( compare it to golmud railway paracel storm notnoverpowered AAs cpscoping you accross the map but ill end this comment here

Developing the game for last gen consoles to make more money backfired on them. They had to use old tech standards for netcode, graphics (destruction), and hit reg instead of taking advantage of advanced processors and high speed internet.
