Battlefield 2042: My humble feedback

I realize I'm in the minority, but I'm enjoying BF2042. I'm not an EA/Dice apologist -- the way they launched 2042 was shameful. They deserve the scorn they've received for it. But now that the worst bugs have been fixed, I am really enjoying the gameplay. I was worried that losing the class system would ruin things, but I really like the specialists, especially combined with the ability to define loadouts, and to dynamically change gun attachments.

That said, there are still three pain points for me. One is the need for further bug fixes (I still routinely cannot revive people who die too close to objects, and I regularly lose the ability to jump or ADS) and quality of life improvements (VOIP, server browser, platoon tags, and battlelog are the 4 big ones). So I hope there is a continued focus on squashing bugs and adding missing functionality.

Second, I miss water maps, with naval units and the ability to swim underwater. I didn't realize how much I liked that stuff until it was gone!

The final thing I really want to see is more content. More weapons and gear. More attachments. Add the ability to add skins to your Ranger or recon drone. And most importantly, more maps. Both new original 2042 maps but also porting more legacy maps into Portal.

I love being able to play on old maps in Portal, both with the original units or with 2042 units. I just wish there were more of them! And not just from the most popular franchise entries, but also from the lesser-played games like Vietnam, Hardline, and 2142. In my ideal world, all maps from all previous BF games would be there.

I haven't mentioned Hazard Zone mainly because when we played it, there was a fairly long wait between matches, which turned us off to it. In addition, we ended up fighting AI more than other players. Personally, I think there are other games which do Battle Royale really well. I don't think every game has to do everything. I'd rather BF focus their time and energy on what they do well, and not worry about battle royale.

Like I said, I realize I may be in the minority on some of this. I know I'm not the only one -- the friends I game with have similar feelings. The main thing is that BF2042 has such potential and I would hate to see that wasted
