BattleField 2042 Origin purchase

If I purchase this on Origin for my PC, Can I play with my brother who is on his Xbox Console? Also, Is Origin and EA Desktop apps for the PC the same thing or are they separate? How does that work exactly?

There is no official information about cross platform in Battlefield 2042. We probably hear something about it at EA Play in July 22nd.

Regarding Origin and EA Desktop question. At the main time, they both are used to play EA Games, so at the moment there is no difference where to play the games. In the future EA Desktop should replace Origin. When it happens all your games purchased on Origin will be available on EA Desktop.

Curious as to what the "love letter to fans" will be that will be announced at EA play. Gotta involve crossplay? Whatever it is it cannot match the data demand of the game announced so far. We can hope that Dice have really got their creative head on and are putting together a crossplay mode that is as much fun to play as the full version of 2042 seems to be. Hazard Zone (BR replacement?), and the Love letter both still to come. They are not going to end this without having a go at satisfying everyone I reckon!
