My personal opinion is that I'm not really fussed about my rank and it doesn't incentive me to play. I just enjoy PTFOing and supporting my team to the best of my (sometimes lacking) abilities. That's enough for me usually.
Obviously I'm not expecting my opinion to match everyone else, and there is arguably merit in refining the existing system for people who do focus on and enjoy ranking up (E.G. lowering it from S999 to make it less of a grind), but it's just not something I focus on myself.

I fully understand your opinion. Also, as you have said probably lowering the current "prestige" level would also help out. Thank you for taking the time to reply @ElliotLH.
- ElliotLH2 years agoHero+@danisoff No worries and I do have to admit that I was more inclined to enjoy ranking up in BF4 and BF1 as it seemed a lot more achievable and less off-putting to reach max rank.

I agree @ElliotLH, I think the perfect sweet spot, at least for me is a ranking system between Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, I have to say I'm very biased towards Battlefield 3 😉. Never played Battlefield 1, but I heard the ranking system is almost the same like in Battlefield 4. Maybe I'm a minority, but the ranking system like in BFV and BF2042 just made it feel very boring and unreachable. In previous games, like BFBC2, BF3, BF4 you would play a lot but you would reach the end goal.

In my honest opinion BF2 had the best ranking system along with awards and such. The actually had meaning behind them when earning them.
