Battlefield 2042 Tactics
I've played A LOT of 2042. My go to game mode is Breakthrough 90% of the time. In my time playing I can say I've definitely seen a lot of dumb stuff on the battlefield.
The purpose of this post is to be a place where players can discuss various tactics and strategies for different maps and situations. Perhaps with enough involvement, we can create a battlefield where people use their heads as much as their munitions.
STRANDED (Attack) -
This is in my opinion the easiest map for Breakthrough attack. It's designed in a way that leaves very little room for the defending team to defend an aggressive push. "Aggressive" is the key word here.
Objectives A & B are the two areas I see the push stopped most often.
Objective A:
I'm usually playing Rao, but on Stranded I usually always use Irish and run him with "smoke launcher". During the 1st stage, what I've found is the best strategy is just to "GO". I use smoke to provide cover for myself and teammates, creating a path that can safely get us to the wall between spawn and the flag.
If everyone MOVES FORWARD when they see smoke and head for the wall, the defending will be overwhelmed and lose the point with just a couple minutes at best.
Problem is, half of the team won't come down on the hill.
Objective B:
Typically what I do here is take myself along with my smoke launcher to the loft at the back of ship. From there I place my APS and pop smoke at each side of the room (smoke covering the ground floor). Before doing I usually will text the plan and ask everyone to jump down when they see the smoke. Again, this a map where the strategy is to avoid long drawn out engagements on the hills and on the loft. This isn't really helping. You just have to go. After popping smoke I just down, kill 2-3 enemies and then die, because no one jumped down with me. On the rare occasion that they do just down, this section will typically fall within a minute to two minutes at best.
That's my first submission (I have more), but will stop here for now. I want a chance to see if this topic is of interest to people before adding any more.
