"We also want to give you the assurance that we’re carefully evaluating your desire to see legacy features return. End-of-match Scoreboard, Server Browser, and features like Voice Chat are big topics for us to cover all at once, and we have plenty we want to say around them. We’ll come back to you when we have things that we can show to you, including details about our long-term vision for certain features and functions."
I still find it incredibly telling that they lumped end-of-match scoreboard and voice chat into the label of "legacy features". Insane that they considered so many things to not be important enough to implement or outdated. Ridiculous

I agree and I am even more amazed that they still haven't acted to bring the most important one the Server Browser.
I would also note, sadly they have definitely NOT had much to say about it either.

Given the reason stated for delaying the specialist feedback and not making any comment on that decision for weeks, I don't expect even the most basic forms of courtesy or honesty from Dice.
Things are said, deadlines promised, and next to nothing delivered. Delivered late, at that.
It's pretty obvious now that anything Dice say can not be relied on. That Dice itself feels no obligation to be honest or upfront.
And I'm still curious as to how Dice feel that acting like this wont impact sales of any future games they release.

silence is an answer. if they stay quiet and don't build a server browser people might stay. if they say they're not going to build one people will leave.

And if they stay quiet, without adding a server browser, all those people who had their fingers crossed will reconsider what it means to trust Dice to do the right thing.
2042, at this point, is less a game and more an exercise in Dice burning up decades worth of trust in them as a studio.

Oh future sales will be impacted alright, you can fool some of the people some of the time but the damage inflicted by BF2042 will reverberate for years imho.

Quite so.
2042 isn't just another poor release from Dice in the process of being fixed. Because, for a start, Dice are not fixing the fundamentals. They're just fiddling around with peripheral issues.
Secondly, Dice seem pathologically unable to be honest about their intentions, and congenitally unable to take player feedback into account.
Add in the chronic mendacity of their public statements, and its a toxic, studio killing, brew.
