That new Conquest Large layout you give as an example feels horrible and as if you've learnt absolutely nothing, sadly. Here's why I think so:

• Home sectors feel very unbalanced:
  • F2 seems to still be on top the skyscraper.
    • If RU controls the skyscraper, it's still very defensible. US will have a hard time, unless it's undefended. Plus ground vehicles can't push for it (let's skip hovercrafts for now).
    • If US controls the skyscraper, they have an opportunity to directly snipe/SOFLAM/shoot into the RU spawn area, potentially killing vehicles even before they're actually ready to get going. There's no such opportunity on the other side of the map.
  • B1/B2 in contrast is flat terrain. One or two squads, potentially with vehicle support in between can take both points at once. This is something that's not possible for F1/F2. While this creates a bit of asymmetrical gameplay, it feels unfair and unbalanced.
• Combining this disadvantage with the different distances to the capture points, it be comes even worse. RU to F1/F2 seems to be significantly shorter than US to B1/B2. While US has the advantage for C1, D1 is further away, too.
• While the old layout wasn't perfect either, it had a clear symmetrical goal: Home sectors (B/E) have two ground objectives next to each other, on the other corner of the map there are high + low objectives. The new layout breaks with this without accounting for it (I don't think US will get more cover at B1/B2 for example).

Breakthrough Large:

• This change also feels very weird. While I guess the points would be more fun and easier to take, it makes defending significantly harder. Plus this throws away half the map, never forcing people to cross the water (except when going for B1) for example. This doesn't feel like "Conquest Large", it's "Conquest" at best.
• Even just moving Sector C to the top right feels more interesting to me, because then you'd cover the map diagonally without lengthening the paths significantly.
• Bonus point: The domed part on the top right would offer a nice change for both defenders and attackers without making the point impossible to take.

A few more general notes.

• My main gripe with Breakthrough 128 isn't the chaotic nature as a whole:
  • There's no sense of front-line with Mackay, Sundance (and others) continuously popping up from all directions. Even with 32 players it would be the same.
  • Distances to traverse are often a semi-issue or even a non-issue. It only gets way worse when spawn points feel – excuse my wording – outright moronic. They often felt out of place in BFV, but BF2042 makes them even worse:
    • If I pick to spawn at a flag in sector 2 and the game instead spawns me at HQ in former sector 1, that's stupid.
    • If I pick to spawn on my squad mate, I want to appear somewhat close to my squad mate, not 200m on the other s ide of objectives. If you need differentiation to spawn beacon, force para jumps, if possible (similar how spawn beacons originally worked in older games I think).
    • If I pick point inside a structure (like the oil rig on Breakaway or one of the wrecks on Discarded) I absolutely want to at least spawn inside said structure. Spawning outside in the open between enemy vehicles is absolutely stupid and making the situation way worse.
  • In both Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V it felt rewarding to retreat as a defender and look for remaining opponents as an attacker, as killing those rewarded vital tickets to fight longer. This was fun! Battlefield 2042 on the other hand starts to hide the mini map between sectors and doesn't incentivize defenders to actually fall back (what would be direct orders). Instead the game encourages camping, staying behind, spawn killing attackers. This is very distracting, annoying, and breaks the flow of the game, since in theory attackers should first "defend" their back/spawn area to avoid enemies attacking from behind, potentially destroying freshly spawned vehicles, etc.
  • Since gameplay isn't mirrored (attacking vs. defending), there should actually be three Breakthrough queues, if you still insist on not allowing people to swap teams and requeing them instead of swapping sides for the next map:
    • Play as Attacker
    • Play as Defender
    • Play as any side
