Hi, here's my contribution :
Which maps currently offer a poor opening experience due to the location of the Spawn base?
Hourglass
Renewal (B sector side only)
Breakeway (A sector side only)
Manifest
Orbital
Discarded
On all these maps I respawn at the beginning of the game. The first flags are too far from the spawn.
Solution either change the location of the spawn bases or add transport vehicles (quad, jeep...) directly on the base, not to be chosen on the start screen like on some flags where there are quad and jeep.
Which maps are harder to get back into combat on in an all-cap scenario?
Breakeway, Hourglass, because of the distance between each flag and sector. Especially the B C D sectors on Hourglass. After capturing one of these flags, it is very difficult to quickly move to another sector as infantry. D and E on breakeway are a joke in terms of location. D is surrounded by a flat area where tanks and bolts rule. It is impossible not to get killed if you face a vehicle in this area. Sector E is a joke. Like the G flag on Sinai desert. The marketing before all: objective to sell the greatest map of BF of all times, while making go up the nostalgia of the veterans (Peak of Damavand). Point E should be removed, having gone 5 times max in 20 days of play.
The solution is to add transport vehicles (quad, jeep) on the flag areas, in much larger numbers, one quad or jeep is not enough and allow a much faster reset. This will allow long distances to be achieved quickly while protecting infantry from tanks/Bolts in the areas between two flags.
What do you think of the current balance between infantry and vehicles in Breakthrough?
Whether in breakthrough or conquest, the infantry/vehicle balance is very much in favour of vehicles. This is a consequence of too many vehicles, but not only. It is also due to the lack of cover that exists, whether in the areas between the flags, or even on certain flag areas, B1 on discarded... So just changing the number of vehicles will not solve this problem. Concerning the movement between flags, the infantry is totally at the me
Have you ever played Breakthrough with 64 players, and do you think this is the best way to experience the mode ?
Breakthrough was a flagship mode in BF1 introduced via operations and the arrival of the Peace maps on BFV has magnified this mode. On these 2 opuses it was 64 modes.
The big problem with Breakthrough, which is different from Conquest, is that whether there are 64 or 128 players, you always end up with 1 or 2 flags per zone. So we went from 64 players fighting for 2 flags per zone, to 128 on 2 flags always. Vehicle or not, this mode will be too chaotic with such a high number of players. Number of players plus all the AI (Turrets and dog), and it's total chaos. Whereas for conquest, more players means more flags, to dispatch the players in the best way. 32 players have to fight one flag at most, which was the strength of Frontline on BF1.
On which maps and flags do you see the most immediate need for more line of sight blockers?
You mention Kaleidoscope a lot, for reference, for my part it's far from being the map that suffers the most from this problem.
In my opinion, Breakeway around sectors C and D and B is the worst, fighting by far the most, with little coverage.
For me, the maps that need to be fixed the fastest are:
Breakeway sector B C D, basically anything on ice water.
Hourglass, the desert... The area including the B C D
Discarded zone which separates sector B and sector C. Or the zone comprising A D E despite the many pieces of boats.
Renewal, the gap between sector B and C which is just terrible.
Do you have any specific areas on the maps that you feel lack coverage?
This problem is related to the above, however I will go into more detail on some of the flags. The B1 flag on discarded, no cover, infantry can do absolutely nothing against vehicles and choppers.
Do you have any ideas on how we can better define travel paths between objectives to keep the combat focused?
No, other than adding more ground vehicles to allow infantry to move quickly between sectors and therefore have combat concentrations.
Beyond these different questions to your answers, please consider the possibility of giving players the choice at the beginning of each party to either spawn directly via the cinematic or wait in the hub.
I'd like to know if it's possible to have the maps of the BF portal in the AOW playlist, because you have some content, but you don't use it...
And please, no more destruction !!!!
