Some thoughts that I have are:
- Don't force people to spawn at the beginning of the round, I honestly don't understand the logic behind this and it just makes it impossible for anyone wanting to spawn in a transport vehicle (Condor/Hind) to fulfil their role without waiting for the first wave of infantry to die.. which can be considerable if the distances they have to travel. It also means squad mates can't be effective in vehicles like attack choppers etc.
This simple change would make getting into the action much quicker for players
- More unarmed transport vehicles in the base spawns.. quad bikes, pick up trucks, anything.
- Aerial assualt opening akin to the paradrops in BFV's Grand Operations, dropping people closer to the action for breakthrough mode (Whilst on that... bring back operations from BF1 in general. Pls DICE)
- Do not scrap 128 Breakthrough, the maps need to be reworked to accommodate it better in my opinion, scrapping it altogether isn't the answer.
- Personally i'm not finding myself overwhelmed by the intensity of the objectives in breakthrough, they could just be placed better, at objectives that would 'matter' in the narrative with adequate cover so players aren't left in the open, farmed by snipers & vehicles.
- On vehicles, I actually think they need a buff in many ways.. these should be key assets on the battlefield that are feared and that teams have to work together to take down. The 30mm cannons on the attack heli's and the 20mm on the nightbird is underpowered in my opinion, especially when compared to BF3/4 where I don't think they were OP personally (And no I don't just run heli).
Final thought (not really about maps), please please please fix squads so the system is like in previous titles.. I really don't know why it was changed, some insight into that decision would be great. 2042 was meant to be all about player freedom but you've actually stripped a key part of how players choose to play by limiting this aspect.
I really do hope you guys can turn this game around, whilst I am against the intro of specialists and wish the core class structure was kept there are moments when my jaw drops when playing this game and I sense there is a true Battlefield game in here somewhere. But for the time being this is a mostly frustrating experience and in a world where free time is coveted there are better things out there to play.
