QUESTIONS FROM THE CORE FEEDBACK POST
- Which maps presently provide a poor opening experience because of the location of the Base Spawn?
-Manifest does require a lot of running, could move up the initial spawn points. Focus on future content though, current maps are fine.
- Which maps are making it harder to get back into the fight in an all cap scenario?
-I don't know what an all cap scenario is. I can tell you the last sector of Orbital in Breakthrough 128p is impossible to defend because the respawn for defenders is too far away. I would rather your time be put towards making better future maps though.
- How do you feel about the current balance between Infantry and Vehicles in Breakthrough?
-Attackers get too many vehicles. Spawn times or overall # of allowed vehicles need to be reduced. C5 drones must be removed from the game if you weaken the attackers vehicle count, and vice-versa. If you remove c5 drone without weakening attackers vehicles, attackers will win even more than they do now.
- Have you played 64 player Breakthrough, and do you feel that this is the better way to experience the mode?
-I have and no, not at all. I exclusively play 128p Breakthrough and I would stop playing 2042 if you removed 128p Breakthrough. 128p Breakthrough is the only mode I play now.
- On which maps and Flags do you see the most immediate need for more line of sight blockers?
-For Breakthrough 128p, I don't think this is as big of an issue as you might think. I don't play Conquest so I can't speak to that game mode, but I honestly cannot think of a single map that needs more cover in 128p Breakthrough. Maybe 1st sector defense for Discarded. It's hard to defend inbetween the objectives on that 1st sector because there isn't much cover. Hourglass can also be quite a challenge in the second sector when trying to defend the flag. Attackers just surround B2 / B3, blast everyone off it, and then occupy it with all their vehicles/players.
- Do you have specific areas on maps that currently stand out to you as lacking cover?
-Answered in previous questions. For the record, I would much prefer future maps to be released versus revising old content. Just do better with new maps and please don't make us wait a year to get them.
- Do you have thoughts on how we can better define traveling paths between objectives to keep combat focused?
-Not a problem in 128p Breakthrough
- Do you see improvement opportunities to make it easier to understand how to get from one objective to the next?-Not a problem in 128p Breakthrough
I am not a fan of dedicating significant resources/time to revising old maps. They're not that bad. I would much prefer that you spend your time and resources on new content, and quickly. We are going on 6 months without any new content. That's bad. We need new guns, new skins, new maps, new challenges, game modes, etc. Think of how Battlefield 1 did their expansions. They released like 5 new maps, tons of guns, skins, vehicles, water warfare, etc. It almost felt like a whole new game. That is exactly what BF 2042 needs.
Season 1 needs to be like a Battlefield 1 Premium expansion. If you want to get your game back on track, that's how you do it. Not revising old maps.
