Battlefield Going Open World
This is a rumor so take with a grain of salt but what is your opinion about Battlefield going open world? I'm personally not real thrilled. Next Battlefield Game Could Be Open World (msn.com)
The MSN article seems to be referring to the single player campaign when talking about open world.
Battlefield Bad Company 1 had an open world single player campaign which I enjoyed.
Open world multiplayer doesn't strike me as something that would work well outside of Battle Royale.
For classic multiplayer modes like conquest and breakthrough. Big maps turn into walking simulators that are too slow pace with long sight lines. This results in frustrating gameplay where players get sniped while trying to run across wide open fields towards the objective.
Eventually players get tired of getting sniped while running across wide open fields towards the objective and go play another game that's more fun and less frustrating.

Kind of disagree or not completely agree with you. This is where vehicle play comes in as the title says it's a battlefield game. I love the fact that you can call in a pond hawk and just hop on it and go wherever I want to go and continue on foot from there. Nothing more boring than a map like Haven or Stadium. Even redacted. (For me)

@OskooI_007I actually don't mind waiting for vehicles to become available. I always play with friends while talking on the mic. Getting stuck on the field with friends and figuring out a way to get somewhere is part of the fun for me. Exposure is an amazing map for all this. I feel there are enough vehicles in the game. I would not say no to more though .
It's definitely relative I suppose, if you're stuck without a vehicle because of some kind of user error then it's perfectly fine, but the problem I'd wager is that 2042 failed to learn from the problems in previous Battlefield titles, the whole point of the vehicle call-in system with the tablet was to eradicate that limbo where you're stuck without a vehicle. But that tablet in my opinion, never really amounted to anything besides vehicles ending up on rooftops.
