Did you get your refund? I'd say Bf2042 qualifies for a 72 hour refund because bugs are out of your control per their agreement with consumers.
Yes after many different live chat supports, I finally got a refund. Be as nice as you can, even though it will be very frustrating. Try at different times of day and explain the game is unplayable and so buggy that it cannot be played. This took hours of live chatting to eventually get a refund. Not the best use of time but it's the principle. The great game guarantee should be a lot longer than 24 hours
