Battlefield vehicle spawn systems

How will the battlefeld vehicle spawn system work?  Will it require points like the missiles and artillery did in Battlefield 5?(squad points)

That was awesome! So true too.

I hope they do a mix of vehicles on the map and calling them in. I don't want a system where you have to race to the spawn screen to get a vehicle. People in Star Wars Battlefront 2 used to camp out in the menu screen hoping to get a hero or if reinforcements were capped.

@EA_Blueberry Certainly some kind of player tutorial / training could be invaluable to quickly build basic vehicle skills.  I understood that role more or less fell to the single-player campaign, but in light of its absence for BF2042... I hope it merits some consideration.

@EA_Blueberry I like the missions idea a lot. Just to provide some guidance on what should be practiced, especially if you’re a newcomer.

I know having bots will help learn new features and vehicles. Jump into a “solo” game without worry. But some kind of mode that puts all the weapons and vehicles in one place would be more helpful. Make vehicle purchases free, allow you to change your specialist more easily, etc.

Y I agree, I should return the proving ground that BF4 had with missions included. With regard to vehicles, I believe that two systems could coexist, one similar to that of BF3 and the other of requesting vehicles by points that way I think everyone will have the opportunity to use vehicles and learn.

@Raven3356There will be some point system were you can spawn vehicles in to your location. These vehicles you can spawn in can be hit by enemy fire allegedly as they come down (mentioned in a EA briefing chat online)

Apart from that there will be vehicles to use around the map.

I would like to see a cool down system once you’ve been in a vehicle tank plane helicopter etc once you die there is a cool down or time limit before you can try to obtain another.

I've been replaying BF4 the last couple of days and I'm being reminded why I agree with this so much. With 64 person servers you already have people camping for specific vehicle spawns.. with 128 person servers I can only imagine it getting worse. I play mostly infantry but occasionally when I get the opportunity I love piloting and co-piloting helicopters. It's kind of a shame that the current system can be abused where if the person who last used the vehicle died and just waits at spawn screen until that vehicle icon reappears so they can spawn on it again and not allow others the opportunity.

Maybe the vehicles spawning around the map will curb this behavior a little bit - I hope some thought is going into the spawn screen campers issue.

  • @OskooI_007 I personally hate that idea. Why the * would a M1- Abrams just be hanging out somewhere lol. Waiting on its date to arrive? I'd rather have it like the good old days. Vehicles spawn at the bases.

@akula_r Camping the spawn screen or spawn itself isn't as bad as many people make it out to be.

    1) Vehicle pros can bring a lot of value to the team and can have a dramatic effect on attacks and defenses. And even if their K/D isn't spectacular if they are tying up the enemy pros and preventing them from going on a rampage then they are still pulling their own.

    2) Many maps have multiple vehicles so the actual "wasted" time is negligible. And in fact considering that vehicles are a lot faster than running it can actually be more efficient to wait for one depending on the wait time.

    3) Not all vehicle people are committed to a certain one. Yes, jet pilots are notorious for being single disciplinary but many like myself will work on multiple vehicles - even transports. But those jet pilots have a good excuse for focusing so much as piloting has traditionally been extremely competitive and only repeated practice can make you better.

    4) A lot of people couldn't care less about vehicles. In my experience most chat, discord, forum is typically dominated by class and weapon discussions. Some people never set foot in nor want to get in a heavy vehicle outside of a transport. That means the competition for them is fairly light on most maps where supply largely meets (and sometimes exceeds) demand. Certainly there are exceptions like maps that have just a handful of vehicles but on most medium to large maps its generally not a big issue.
  • @Raven3356 Since it seems like you will be able to spawn and drop vehicles from a tablet, my only concern is that if you drop a vehicle YOU call for yourself, then someone else that is closer steal your vehicle. If you call it, you should be the only one able to drive it. Or at least some sort of timer, where after X amount of time, of you didn't hop in your vehicle, then, someone else can. Does that make sense?
