BF2042 is CPU bound; you didn't mention what CPU you had?
Yes, BF2042 has some lag, it has shader compiling also make sure the maps are fully loaded and that should diminish.

Wierd. BF 2042 is a good game. Why stop supporting something that is good?
I have a Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 5,2 ghz. 64gb DDR5 1:1 6000mhz.
As mentioned i know my settings and there is no issues here. it's 100% the game shaders as mentioned before.
