- @kregora As long as the ping actually shows for squadmates and turns up in the right zipcode, that would be a step forward.
I'm "ok" with the lego rose, at least it's there. - kregora4 years agoSeasoned Ace@carsono311 Yeah, this is one feature I really though we would have been able to test during the Beta.

@FringerunnerLol “Legorose”
That needs to stick!@kregora Same. Kind of frustrating really. They had all these core features and systems in place, but did not feel it necessary to at least have them in a workable state for the Beta? Just boneheaded.
- @ElliotLH Even as a PC snob, i can see that, though that tiny keyboard screams out for an equally tiny mouse!

- @Fringerunner The answer is simple: executives at the top and major shareholders. They are the reason they effectively said, “We know you don’t like it, but your $60-$120 isn’t going to make the bank, our only way of making money is off of the Specialists.” The game simple wasn’t built around the “ideal Battlefield game” it was centered off of the Specialists. I say that with zero reservations and one hundred percent certainty to be the case after reading the post. We will see if the * child of Battlefield/Rainbow 6 Siege/CoD/Warzone works out for them.
- @gruntbrews_vicv Not implausible, sadly.
I'm not sure if i said it in this thread or another at this point, but in short, player retention in core vs portal should be interesting after a while. - kregora4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@gruntbrews_vicvYeah this looks very much like survivorship bias to me. They look at the people that stayed with BF and what else they are playing, instead of trying to figure out, which people left the franchise and why.
I liked the Abraham Wald anecdote about the analysis of bullet holes in bombers that returned after a bombing run, to strengthen the armor where the planes where hit. But ignoring the fact that planes that didn't return were most likely hit elsewhere.
@Fringerunner wrote:Well, that settles the specialist question, let's see if rainbow six comes out with 128-player maps soon.
I'm not going to say It's enough to put me off, but I'd like to know what the reasoning was for changing the classes to specialists, i really would, because this still seems like an absolutely insane design choice.
....
To keep alive the Battle Royal option just in case (EA leadership got severe negatives, when not having the BR option in the BFV game on release back then) and then ongoing micro transactions on more new specialists/cosmetics/gadgets to monetize the hell out of it going forward.
- LordVader6664 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@gruntbrews_vicv Yup got to agree. The specialists make a lot more sense in Hazard Zone (unique picks only in a team). Whether it’s EA or Dice management Hazard Zone is the new Battlefield
