Reclaimed is a bottom of the barrel uninspired one laned garbage fire. The only good map in the game is exposure (conquest) and I truly believe that. Exposure genuinely encapsulates the combined arms aspect of BATTLEFIELD like no other map in the game. The verticality and indoor areas afford you many different ways to play the round. The weakest part of the map is the fact that when you're out in the open you're REALLY out in open and a trillion sightlines let snipers pick you off. And that is a serious critique but thats more of a symptom of modern DICE. That exact issue persists throughout every single map in the game. At least with Exposure you can get creative and it's not just a flat boring map. Typically, verticality is bad in competitive games but conquest isn't really meant for the competitive play. It's more sand boxy and more for squad/team play.

In my eyes, Reclamined is a step further away from what Battlefield is. Reclaimed feels like a refined TDM map, it has little to do with conquest and I dont understand why DICE crammed the vehicles on the map which have too little room to properly move in. Even 64 players feels it's too much for this map.
DICE should be going the Battlebit way (which took the right turn) instead of the small-smaller-smallest map making approach.
- 3 years ago@xpaydayx I think Renewal is also a very good map. Big enough for the vehicles, wisely designed enough to deliver infantry a good experience.
- 3 years ago@Wargame_Enj0yer Id say I partially agree. The partial-ness stems from the trash "rework". The OG layout was significantly better on 128 with the added hill. Even though cringelords would sit on it and snipe it was still fun to battle around the hill trying to cap those 2 points (A1/2 I think?). They basically removed that entire area for the sake of adding a tiny bit of cover throughout the rest of the map. Yet I've never once made use of the "lanes" they were talking about when they were leading up to the release of Renewal 2.0. All of the reworks are a disgraceful use of resources.
- JOGAGATYA3 years agoSeasoned Ace@xpaydayx Exactly! I think unfortunately the reworks were kind of a waste of resources. Fundamentally they are the same maps. I feel it's important to be vocal about showing support for large maps. Not everyone wants to fight close quarters only. i am saying this before DICE gets the idea of making a new BF with maps ALL looking like Reclaimed. By the way, and i said this many times, while Hourglass is huge, you can also have close quarters fights in the stadium. Genius. Everyone can have fun on that map. (Until maybe the rework....)
