BF 2042 PC HOTAS Support

When will this be addressed?

This is the first BF Title in the 20 year history of Battlefield to actually NOT natively supply nor support HOTAS and Flight Stick support.  And that's actually quite sad,  BFV had native flight and Multi-device input support.  BF1 had native flight and multi-device input support.   BF4 had flight support, but did not fully support multi-device input ( I had a X52 then anyways ), BF3 full flight support, BFBC2, BF2, BF-Vietnam and all the way back to 20 years ago...... BF1942 had native flight support.

Why is 2042 suddenly such a challenge for native flight and HOTAS Support, this is 2022.  its literally 4 files to make the game natively support flight setups including HOTAS with 2 or more inputs.

And don't give me that fair cross-play nonsense.  There are titles on Consoles ( AceCombat is the biggest one ) that actively and natively support their own HOTAS setups, so that point is absolutely moot.

I see the menu option for Joystick controls, but it does not support multiple input devices like the X55/56 series HOTAS by Saitek/Logitech, in fact, just trying to bind controls locks the game up entirely,  I have to forcibly close 2042 by task manager.  The game refuses to acknowledge the throttle side of my X56 Setup, and thats with or without the X56 Profiler running in the background.

vJoy and Joystick Gremlin do not work with the X55/56 series either, why,  dont know/dont care.  I should not have to be forced to use a 3rd party HID Software to make a 180$ HOTAS Flight Setup work within a game that the franchise title for 20 years supported natively.

So When will this be addressed?   you have pushed out 3 major patches now, you half fixed squad issues,  you gave us VOIP back,  why is it such a challenge to fix flight controls?

DICE/EA not listening to Community Feedback once again.

  • @AOD_CapStar362 I miss my X52, and haven’t been able to get good flying a jet without a JS. Who releases a game without peripherals support? These guys, that’s who.

Very sad indeed, and one of many important missing elements that should have been included at launch.

  • @AOD_CapStar362 Has anyone from EA provided a reasonable explanation regarding this? It's this type of nonsense that makes me lose all hope in todays gaming companies : /

@GritMeister at one point i heard a rumor - it was a decision for Crossplay fairness. which is total non-sense to begin with.

However, interestingly at least we got single input joysticks.

And with the fact there are even HOTAS setups for games on Consoles - AceCombat is one of them. all EA would have to do is enable flight controls on consoles, i know plenty of others who would play BF2042 with flight controls as AceCombat players.

and no Grit, no official reason has been given.
  • I agree. What a total disappointment!!! And the Arcade vs Sim BS that has been spouted is just *. Apparently there are only 2 dll files that need to be added for this to work, but you can add them without being call a cheater. How about EA Games pull their fingers out and the dates and realese a patch that fixes this? I wont be buying any more BF titles till thios has been sorted. Been loyal since the origional Battlefield. Pitty you released something with such a disappointing flaw, and have failed to fix the issue. Please fix this!
