BF 2042 "Royale"

I'm going have to say a hard no to BR, as seen by this game it was a bad mistake.

Every game is a BR.  People play this game to avoid BR

I love battlefield, but I couldn't disagree more. I think the BR genre would fit perfectly into the frostbite engine, in fact, I think frostbite gives them a massive advantage over the competition. There are a few reasons why I think a BR would be a great idea but first let's talk $$$.

Let's be honest here, the gaming industry nowadays is largely driven by corporate profits. The gaming Renaissance most of you grew up with is dead. Game design is largely driven by profits, not by fun and creativity. BRs make a lot of money with relatively little investment. If battlefield did do a BR well and it caught on, that would mean a lot more focus and support for the franchise, and that success will bleed into the other modes as well. so even if you never play the BR that you hate so much, Its success will incentivize them to add more content to the game and support it for longer. that means more seasons, more guns, more vehicles, more skins, etc. Everybody wins, of course, assuming they actually let this mode bake in the oven for a while and do it well. If you look at what COD has done, it serves as a perfect example. Warzone was a massive success, and they are still reaping the benefits. The other game modes weren't forgotten.

With that being said, I am well aware that dice has tried implementing its own BR and failed multiple times, miserably. I tried firestorm... that game was bad at best... and l tried hazard zone... I'm not even sure what to say about that abomination of a game mode... a complete and massive failure. I think HZ should just be removed from the game at this point, It's probably the worst "BR" or "Tarkov" clone I have ever played. Ok, now that I have established how I feel about the previous BRs...I think the destruction in the Frostbite engine is perfect for a new BR mode if done well. Let me say that again... IF DONE WELL. 

let's move on to why I think frostbite would be a perfect engine for a new BR. One opportunity I see with previous BRs (APEX, PUBG, WARZONE) is the complete absence of destruction and Levolution. There are only so many FPS game engines that actually have destruction baked in and ready to go. Bringing destruction and Levolution to the realistic BR market would fill a gap that currently does not exist. On top of that, there are only so many games that have servers and infrastructure needed for handling large maps and high player counts. Frostbite already has it, they can literally copy-paste assets from 2042 or previous games and it would work perfectly. I also think the vehicle warfare in 2042 is pretty freaking good and I would love to see a BR with some tank action finally come to the market (and not fail lol firestorm). Here is a list of features from 2042 that I think would fit well in the BR genre:

• destruction
• Levolution
• Squad-based gameplay
• Server Infrastructure designed for high player count
• Large maps
• lots of weapons
• lots of attachments
• lots of gadgets
• operators
• operator skins
• vehicle skins
• vehicle warfare
• robo dog 🙂

Dice has failed miserably at making BRs in the past, but just because Dice failed in the past doesn't mean they shouldn't learn from their failures and try again. If they simply gave up when making a mistake, then 2042 would have been dropped a long time ago. After a year of solid support, the game has rebounded and is slowly becoming more popular. Adding a Successful BR mode to the game, or perhaps making a standalone game, would only benefit the franchise as a whole.

why should i care? looking at DICEs current track record the next game is not going to have most all requred features one would expect again.
for example:

• only solos
• you will not be able to look horizontally
• no looting system
• loot will bug out every time you try to interact with it
• the game will randomly kill you if you move too fast
• the performance will vary from hardcrashing without warning to corrupting your OS
• a soundbug that persist for weeks making it almost tempting to play without sound entirely
• no VOIP or any form of communication
• calling copy pasted assets new content
• and the general state of DICE releases making you wonder how this is ever deemed launchable let alone leagal to
• oh and charge you full price and then dropping it again after 6 months
