@iFlyAircraft I believe the turn ratio difference was implemented to balance the F35 having the capability to hover: actual hover flight mode and nonexistent stall speed

@PhantomPinoyThe F35 hover capability is nothing more than a gimmick, and will get you killed in every dogfight where your opponent has any bit of skill. I've gone against many who have tried to hover in the middle of a dogfight, and most of them either crashed, or I gunned them down after looping around.

And yet I've been able to outmaneuver several SU pilots simply by hitting the hover button, have them go past me and start chasing them. Know how to use it maybe?
- S3SSioN_SoL4 years agoSeasoned Ace@PhantomPinoy I'd argue this decision is one of poor design and not one of balance, any Jet designer would know how much of a difference giving another faction's Jet better maneuverability over the other would directly imbalance gameplay. And if the designers actually used the Hover, they'd know how pointless it is. The hover mode is literally "let me shoot at the ants and miss every single one of my shots because the guns don't align with my reticle and/or because my guns are pea shooters against the ants".
- 4 years ago@S3SSioN_SoL Exactly. As was pointed out above, the F35s VTOL ability is merely a gimmick and does nothing to provide any sort of reliably functional ACM advantage, over the Felon. Any advantage VTOL provides in ACM, is strictly situational and mostly limited to making new, or incompetent pilots feel silly when they fly past you. But against a competent veteran pilot flying a Felon, VTOL is almost always and instant death sentence.

If only the Felon wouldn't be able to slow down sow much mid flight it wouldn't be so bad.
